| Evan Tanner: Looks Like I'll Be Back In The Octagon This Summer Quote:
In his most recent post on his website, former UFC middleweight champion, Evan Tanner has stated that UFC matchmaker, Joe Silva has given him both an opponent and date for his next fight.
From EvanTanner.net: Just talked with Joe Silva, the UFC matchmaker. He gave me a date and an opponent. Looks like I’ll be back in the Octagon this summer.
It’s good to have a fight scheduled. The last two weeks have been really rough. I’ll tell the story on that in the next few days. | Source |

I like the guy and appreciate his story; unfortunately I don't think he looked that good in his fight. I hope he can keep pushing through.

I'm looking forward to seeing Tanner back in the octagon, & I do hope he improves from his performance against Okami. It does make me wonder though when he says the last 2 weeks have been really tough, & he'll let us know more later. I wish him the best tho.

Good luck to him I love watching this guy compete.

I don't think facing a guy the caliber of Okami, one of the best middleweights in the ufc, was a good idea after such a long layoff. Hell, only a handful of middleweights in the world are in Okami's league to begin with (if you consider him top 10, which most do).
I think Tanner should not be too hard on himself, and should refocus and get an easier fight. I say a low to midrange middleweight like Sakara would be a good test to see where he's at right now

Evan is going to be back on the win column, he is such a strong, tough fighter. It is true that after a long lay-off, it was'nt the best idea to have him fight Okami, but he'll be back better and stronger...or at least I hope so.

I also think they though tanner was prime for a KO whihc is exactly what you want when you are building up a potential Silva/Okami fight.

Personally i would love to see tanner face Da Spida Kendall. I think it would be a great match up for both Grove and Tanner
