Baroni is the most over hyped and over rated fighter ever. He is 10-9. Yes he brings it but always gasses. If he could fight as good as he can talk then he would probably be unbeatable.

i remember his 20 second annihilation of dave menne... that phil baroni could be a headliner. now hes more of a sideshow. he'll knock you out still but he has more of a howard stern appeal now..."did you hear what baroni said" sort of shit...still sells though i guess

As long as he can sell seats and get people talking about his fights (like we are now), he deserves to be a headliner.

And I totally disagree that Baroni is overrated. I don't know many people that consider him top ten.

He is a headliner b/c he sells, that's all. So he deserves to be a headliner.

But, he is risking it with these last fights, he needs a win or two to be a little more credible. If he doesn't win, sooner than later, people won't care that he is talking shit and selling fights b/c they know he is going to get beat badly.

Sure the guy sells seats, and I'll admit it's mildly amusing when he runs his mouth and then gets his ass handed to him, but I don't think Baroni alone could carry a decent MMA card by himself.

id consider Phil Baroni not so much overated i guess but more along the lines of wasted talent hes stand up looked great about tanner in the first fight he rocked him a few times put some cardio and a soild ground game with hes hands speed and power he could be a real threat

as for mike tyson overrated and wasted talent hes biggest win was probly against a washed up larry holmes whenever he frought a real contender he got beat

I think Baroni is funny as hell. Not because of his "quick wit" but more because of what a complete joke he is as a top level fighter.

Whats funnier than watching him talk out his ass for the month before the fight, breath out his ass 2 minutes into the first round and then land on his ass 3 minutes into the first round as he once again gets KO'd into oblivion.

He deserves no attention what so ever, hopefully he'll now realise he doesn't belong in top level MMA and will return to making those homo erotic banana hammock movies that are all over youtube.
