Frank Shamrock: I think they should be handled from the promotion stand point and not the commissions. If the promoters really cared about the athletes than they should set the standard instead of forcing the state to do it. I think it comes down to the promoter and that if they were worried about protecting their athletes for the long term they would set a standard.
I agree and at the same time I disagree with this statement. I think the organizations should institute a random drug test policy for the fighters. Along with this the athletic commissions should do there pre and post fight tests. The problem I see with the promotions strictly testing is you will get a situation like they have in baseball where someone tests positive, but they never tell anyone.
