World Extreme Cagefighting officially announced Wednesday morning that WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber (20-1) will defend his title against former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver (22-8-1) on Sunday, June 1st at the Arco Arena in Sacramento, Calif.
The event will be available on VERSUS, starting at 9 p.m. ET. The announcement means that speculation that the fight would possibly be shown on pay-per-view is incorrect.
Also officially announced is WEC bantamweight champion Miguel Torres’ first title defense, to take place in a bout against Manny Tapia, 10-0-1. Torres, 33-1, won the title from Chase Beebe following a guillotine choke submission in the first round at WEC 32 on February 13.
Former NCAA amateur wrestling champion Mark Munoz, 3-0, will also make his WEC debut on the card, according to the press release issued by the promotion. The highly-touted Munoz will be moving from light heavyweight to middleweight for his bout. An opponent has yet to be named.
| I originally would of picked Pulver to win this one, but since Faber has been training with BJ I think Pulver is in some serious trouble cause as we saw in the last Penn vs Pulver fight BJ definetly knew how to expose Pulvers weekness. I really don't know which guy to go for in this one should be one hell of a fight.

Well the Faber vs Pulver makes this card alone IMO and I am happy that I get the Versus channel free with my plan with my Time Warner digital box.

I'm pulling for Pulver too brother. Fabers hasn't fought to many ppl with the kind of KO power Pulver has in his left hand. Fabers a badass but I give Pulver the advantage on his feet. He catch's Faber on the button with a left and the fights over. I really like both fighters though so I'm just looking forward to an awesome fight.
I can't wait to see Tores fight again. Holy freak'n BJJ! Theres talk of a possible Torres vs. Faber at FW on down the road. Lets hope and pray....

Im with you both I am definetly pulling for Pulver, but I don't want to under sell either guy. Faber has pulled some pretty meraculous shit out of his ass on multiple occasions. I think Jenns will be ready though, this may have possibilities of fight of the year written all over it.

i was listening to Xtreme Disorder out here in Vegas yesterday and they had Jens on the show. it was a great interview. Jens is very respectful of Faber, and it hyped the fight up for me even more. thats gunna be a great show!
