| Gilbert Yvel: I’m Going To Las Vegas To Train With Randy Couture Quote:
During Fedor's seminar in the Netherlands M-1 Mixfight Alexander Shuldyakov (Head of Information Department) and Mix Fight M-1 - Mixed Martial Arts Editor Michael Mazur got an opportunity of catching up with Gilbert Yvel, famous Dutch MMA fighter with 45 bouts. Extreme efficiency of his vicious fists and kicks is proven with 28 (T)KOs in his 32 victories. Gilbert shared his thoughts about the upcoming fight against fellow Dutchman Alistair Overeem in this short interview
Michael Mazur: What are your feelings about working today together with Fedor?
Gilbert Yvel: It’s nice. He’s a very good fighter and a nice guy.
Michael: What are your thoughts on the upcoming fight against Alistair Overeem?
Gilbert Yvel: Well, I’m going to Las Vegas to train with Randy Couture and John Lewis. So I’ll finish him, it’s that simple.
Michael: So you’ll be training in Xtreme Couture, won’t you?
Gilbert Yvel: Correct.
Michael: Is that possible you’ll sign with M-1 Global?
Gilbert Yvel: I don’t know. We are in talks regarding the contract right now. But there’s a little problem, as I’m not allowed to fight in the States because I got some complications with the referee, so first of all I need to manage to get permission to fight in the USA.
Michael: But M-1 plans on holding the events not only in the US. Japan, Europe and Russia particularly have been named as the future hosts of M-1 shows…
Gilbert Yvel: I know. But every time you want to be free to choose where to fight and not to be banned somewhere.
Michael: What is your impression after having visited Saint Petersburg last year?
Gilbert Yvel: Oh, I’ve been there on several occasions already. I love this city. Felt great.
Michael: Well, thank you very much for you time. Good luck in your fight!
Gilbert Yvel: You’re welcome. Thanks.

Damn pretty cocky saying he is going to finish Overeem simply because he is going to be training with Randy at Xtreme Couture lol.

WAR Overeem! Or I hope the Ref KO's him. WAR Ref!

This should help Yvel's game a good amount. I didn't know this until recently but in the 32 wins he has he has finished 28 by (T)KO and 4 by Submission. He's never won by decision.

I hope the guy can control his temper this time around. Maybe Randy is the man to help him with that.

Apologies to all Gilbert Yvel fans, but how has this guy not been kicked out of MMA yet? Maybe they should just let him and Mike Kyle fight each other and the loser has to stop fighting MMA for good.

I believe in giving people second chances, and it's not like he killed someone.
If this was lee Murray everyone be wishing him the best.

If this was lee Murray everyone be wishing him the best. | Hey, Lee Murray is an alleged criminal. Nothing has been proven. Yet.
But you're right.

If this was lee Murray everyone be wishing him the best. | Isn't this like his 4th or 5th chance and isn't he proud of his lack of restraint? I don't know his entire story, so correct me if I'm wrong.
