UFC lightweight title

a lot of guys r dropping down from welter to come into this exciting division, who do u guys think will take the belt, and what format will they use to determine the champ (tournament, etc).. josh neer has said that he would like to drop down, but that would inevitably mean that he would face spencer fisher somewhere, who is his friend...if urijah faber(kotc bantamweight champ) were to get an offer from dana to fight, i think he could get it done too. what do u think?

Apparently it's Sean Sherk fighting the winner of the upcoming Kenny Florian vs. Sam Stout fight for the returning Lightweight title. If they stick to that, I'm going to have to pick Sherk to wind up with the title when all that's said and done.

I hope Urijah Faber gets on a big stage soon. I've heard a lot about him, I don't THINK I've seen him fight yet.

I think the first LW champ is going to be Sean Sherk. If BJ decides to come down he will dominate unless he gets bored and chooses not to train like he needs to as he has done in the past. But right now I think Sherk is jsut to strong for the guys at 155.

faber should be in the ufc lw division right now him vs sherk would be great. faber has great wrestling skills and is very strong. the only problem is hes a 145 fighter not a 155 so he may be to small to contend with the strength of a guy like sherk who is droping down from ww. would still love to see him in the division as he deff deserves a shot.

I think Melvin Guillard has a legit chance, but I think the next champ will be Sherk then it will go back and forth, I dont see a solid champ in that division like a Hughes or Franklin.

I'd love to see Faber and Tyson Griffin added to the UFC LW division. Faber fights at 145 but so does Hominick and he did very well in his UFC debut. I'd also like to see the UFC bring back guys like Thomson, Ludwig, Hermes, and maybe even Genki Sudo since the UFC has some sort of agreement with K-1 going on. Be nice to see Genki back in the Octagon for a fight or 2.

would love to see all the guys you mentioned in the division if they can add even half those guys the division will be stacked. lots of good possible fights.

I've said thid b4 ,but i really wish Diaz would drop down.At 155 I think he'd be great. All his losses caim to people who over power him.At 155 that wouldn't happen as often.

good observation, Diego, Riggs, and Sherk are big dudes and he lost to all 3 of them in a row.. but up against slim guys like him hes done a pretty good job he should drop.. man imagine, add a few Lightweights, Penn and Diaz dropping.. that division could quickly become the strongest in the UFC or atleast the most exciting.
