I'm really curious how that works. If Tim wins I can see the same formula applied to this and Tim ranked # 1 and Fedor #2. I could be wrong and seeing how it worked with Serra/GSP i can see it repeated here. | I didn't agree with Serra's #1 ranking. If Tim beats Fedor I don't think that will bump him from the #1 spot, but if it did Tim wouldn't be ranked #1, Nog would be moved up to #1, Fedor #2, Tim/Couture #3(imo).

but i can see the Matt Serra formula applied here.
Matt Serra beats GSP
GSP had already beaten: Bj Penn, Matt Hughes, Sean Sherk, Kosh and Trig
They make Matt Serra #1. IF Tim beats Fedor
Fedor beat everybody
they COULD make Tim #1.
I see your logic and I agree with it. I'm still a little bitter bout making Serra #1.

If you go by your statement how does Tim get the #1 spot since he lost to Nog and Couture, the current HW champs? MMA math just doesn't work.

And that wasn't by error. I have no fucking clue on how matt serra jumped from unranked to #1 rank by just beating the champion. Hell, Forrest Griffen beat Shogun who was #1 and alls forrest got was #8.

IMHO, Couture has no more business with the UFC unless he fights Fedor there. I think if he fights Big Nog he will lose, and even if he wins, what then? He leaves as a champ and Big Nog comes back as a champ. Kind of redundant to do so.
Tim vs Fedor is looking to be an amazing fight but I think that Fedor beat stronger and better guys than Tim (just not recently). I still give it to Fedor via submission.
