| A need to shake things up
I know this is my third post, and I assure you it is my last for today, but does anyone agree with me that we need a new champion (just to sake things up) in one of the UFC divisions. Every current champion is deserving of their title (well...maybe not Tim) but I just want to see an upset and see a belt change hands. In all the recent title fights I thought the challenger had a good shot at dethroning the champ, Babalu, Crow and BJ all had the tools to win. I could see The Spider beating Ace and I could see Tito surprising everyone and beating chuck. Monson could beat Tim, but I really don't care about that division, it's atrocious. Anyone else want to see a belt change hands?

Well we can't just say we want a title change, I mean the champ is supposed to be the best at that division and if that person has the skills to stay at the top for a while so be it as long as we know that the champ is the best.

Well something tells me there will be a new lightweight champion at UFC 64.
Also don't be suprised if Ace falls the same night.

lol, there better be a new lightweight champ. As far as the subject of the thread, sure Hughes and Liddell have been champs for a while, but so what they have gone out and won. Franklin has had three title defenses I think, and Sylvia one. So I don't think it is fair to say they have been around to long. As far as who's mostly likely to lose their next defense I could make a case for any of them really except, as much as I hate to say it Sylvia. I like Monson alot, but I think Sylvia will just keep jabbing him, to keep him out of range. Should be interesting, I think we'll see at least one, if not two (lightweight not included) new champs by the end of the year.

yeah a change is in order soon. if one doesn't happen, it's not like im going to stop watching the UFC or anything, but it would still be nice to see a new champ.
i especially wanted to see Hughes get beat, because quite honestly he bores me as champ. he's dominant sure, but it's the same every time. and he will never knock anyone out...he can train striking all day but if he just doesn't possess KO power then it's not gunna happen. and besides BJ, his competition over the past few fights hasn't been top tier (Riggs, Trigg and an over the hill Royce). GSP has this fight. Hopefully we'll see it in December along with Chuck/Tito...that would be the hugest PPV for the UFC to date!
Rich could easily lose if he gets tagged...but we'll see what happens in a few weeks. If Rich is able to defend the Spider's onslaught of strikes or not. I like Rich a lot, but that's also a change i wouldn't mind seeing.
Sylvia...his days are numbered, I don't care what anyone says. Monson beating him is the "upset" everyone is eluding to. Sylvia is a jackass and crap champ...just shows how bad the heavyweight division still is despite them trying to improve it. we all know he can get rocked by a shot too...Kongo, Vera, Mir, and hell maybe even Sanchez are waiting for him if he does beat Monson. the winner of Vera/Mir is going to be #1 contender im sure.
Chuck is probably the best thing going for UFC champs right now, even though his reign has gone on almost two years now. I can't wait for Tito/Chuck II, it's gunna kick ass!
and real quick, what does everyone think of Lauzon beating Pulver? shocked the hell outta me! do you guys think that puts him close to title contention already? ill bet we see Lauzon vs. Guillard next...

I would rather see a Champ defend his title 3, 4, or more times, than to see a different Champ every time there is a title fight.........that makes it seem as if these guys are just getting lucky and are paper champs.

Every once in a while you need an uoset to mix things up and make the match making interesting again. Everything said and done Liddell isn't going anywhere, if Silva doesn't beat Franklin then he's gonna be around for a while. I think GSP might take Hughes and for the love of god I hope someone beats Silvia.

That's what i mean, to shake up the match making. Right now it's just some one earns a shot and then gets owned by the champ. Which says a lot about the champs, it's awesome to have tuff champs, but the match making gets boring. I would just like to see an upset, to mix things up. If Ace loses to The Spider we will see all sorts of interesing match ups.
