Oh dude....no disrespect to Couture at all. The dude was my favorite fighter. I literally got choked up when he retired and like moped around for the next 3 days. I'm just saying that to discredit Hughes like that is just plain ridiculous. I don't personally like the guy as a fighter, or as a person but to discredit his skill and dominance is either pure blindness or being in the hugest state of denial.

and Matt Hughes isnt a MONSTER? He has manhandled the majority of his opponents, making most of them look like rookie fighters.

Hell Frank Trigg, kneed him in the balls, and had him locked in a NASTY Rear Naked Choke, and Matt STILL won the fight.

I don't think Ace is ready to be even thought about being HOF material. Granted he is a good public image for the company during the early stages of MMA being looked at as a legitimate sport. A well spoken, intelligent man will do wonders for the company.

Point blank, Ace hasn't fought anybody yet. Let him beat half the quality of people Hughes' beat and then post this thread.

Uh....isn't it kinda early to be putting these guys into a Hall of Anything? Ok, you win a few fights in the UFC and now you're suddenly a legend and need a placement in the Hall of Fame?
Come on now! The UFC's only been around for 13 years. Even pro boxers from the 70s/80s who have been retired for 20 or so years are still only now even getting any HOF consideration.
The UFC shouldn't acknowledge Matt's HOF placement for at least 20 years, because we may have many more great fighters down the road who can eclipse his accomplishments at 170.
The UFC needs to broaden and expand a little before they even create a HOF for its fighters. And by the way, Ken Shamrock being in the Hall of Fame is a complete disgrace. He accomplished NOTHING, he is and never was any kind of legend. He's just a mediocre UFC fighter who did pro wrestling. He doesn't deserve to be in any HOF.
The HOF is for special fighters who did things out of the ordinary, who accomplished so much, who beat many many good fighters.
