but if he wins, what next for him and GSP?

i think GSP should fight Diego.. there's already some drama built in because GSP basically forced Sanchez outta Greg Jackson's team (depending on how you see it).

Serra/Hughes for the title doesn't make much sense to me but I think this fight has gotta happen anyway.

in truth gsp vs anyone would be a great match
i still hate GSP though
imo diego is still to small for the division
Diego vs Bj @ 155 would be a contender for match of forever

If GSP loses, that may add more fuel to the rumor that he's leaving the UFC for Affliction. If it isn't champ, and he lost the belt twice, both times to Serra, why would he stick around. It's hard to get a title shot, it's even harder to get a title shot when the then champ beat you twice. With that said, I don't see GSP losing again to Serra.

Could you imagine a main event featuring SERRA-FITCH. UFC 88 - SNOOZEFEST!
