In terms of BJJ id say Macdonald. In terms of wrestling and top ground control,Okami.

I would agree on McDonald and Anderson Silva but we never got the chance to see Silva's ground game against Franklin...

Tanner, Shamrock and McDonald.

Machida isn't too bad either, but he uses his BJJ more for avoiding subs.

True. He submitted Lutter and Hendo in his UFC tenure. Yeah he's a striker but he's far from a slouch on the ground.

I'd say Silva represented, but didn't illustrate; MacDonald never got his game going; Tanner was outsized; and Okami is an outstanding grappler, but with "only" good subs.

I see this fight going a lot like the MacDonald fight.

Lutter is lucky to still be fighting in the UFC.

Macdonald was the best I could come up with myself but I'm unaware of a lot of his earlier opponents.
I think it will come down to Lutter's takedown ability but it if he is able to get it to the ground I'm curious to see how it goes as it doesn't seem like Rich has really been tested often, or lately, down there.

Tanner and Shamrock.

I watched lutter's fight against Riviera and he (Lutter) actually lost that fight, and Riviera is not as good as Franklin in any aspect of the game, IMO

Lutter seemed to gas in that match, but do keep in mind it was lutter's second mma fight.

Here is the link of the match in case anyone wants to have a peek at it; http://forums.mmanews.com/mma-pictur...s-riviera.html
