Wouldn't it be funny if nothing turned out to be wrong with Rua? And EliteXC just wanted to boast Baroni around and give him a better shot to win? Hah, doubt it, but it wouldn't surprise me - I wanted Ninja to fuck some shit up! Oh well. Television's bad luck for Villasenor. The only times I've seen him, he's been beat.

Look forward to it - Does anyone know if it's going to be a two hour premier or what? Sure wish it were three.

Um, no. First off, as somebody already said shes not really the best womens mixed martial artist. She got on AG because she is hot. Shes getting put on this card because she is hot and competent at MMA. If she was average looking she would not have been on AG probably and she would most certainly not be on this card.

she's far from the best female mixed martial artist in the world. i like her, she's good, but the reason she is where she is right now is because she's got a great agent and she's beautiful. she doesn't even fight in a legit weight class. every girl she fights has to go up a class and a half to fight her and she doesn't even give the respect of making weight. blame it on her period or whatever other excuses there are out there, but when your job requires you to weigh something, you should weigh it.

Dude, seriously who cares, why defend the UFC every waking moment? The card has Kimbo so it is going to do well. Did the UFC's first televised event have the best fighters in the world? No, it had Forrest Griffin and Diego Sanchez. Elite's card has Kimbo, Robby and Gina.

Think what you want, but MMA does exist outside of that bubble you reside in and post the "UFC vs Everyone else" comments in the "Is the UFC in trouble" thread, not here...

I know you would rather see Fitch vs Koscheck than Baroni vs Joey but if I want to watch 2 men lay on eachother for 15 minutes and try and win a decision, I'll turn on WWE because at least there those guys actually finish opponents.

Onto the actual title of the thread which is about ELITE XC not UFC...

The card will be good, some of the names COULD be bigger but it is what it is supposed to be, EXCITING FIGHTS. Baroni vs Joey is going to be a sluggfest, Robby is going to be Robby, Gina's fights are all exciting and we know what we get with Kimbo, another standup fighter with sickening KO power.

There are a lot of fights on this card that are going to deliver, that looks to be the design behind this card, hence the lack of wrestlers on it.

DaGreat1 hit the nail right on the head.

Casual fans, whom this card is targeted towards, are going to get exactly what they want to see: slug-fests and attractive women. It's very smart marketing from the business standpoint. They already know that die-hards are going to tune in, so why not try to grab some new viewers with what they fancy?

I would have rather see the June 14 card w/ Kimbo as the 1st show, but this isn't so bad. It'll be high octane, might not be technical, but it will be explosive, and I'm guessing that was one purpose. For novices that have never seen the sport or paid it much attention, they wouldn't understand the beauty in seeing Diaz or Shields work an opponent on the ground.

Just for those that don't know the June 14 card looks like so (rumored)....
