Can someone please explain to me why I keep watching this abortion? This weeks episode featured more of the same. Some highlights:

-T.I. calling one of the fighters a "loser" and rubbing it in his face in a very disrespectful and flamboyant way; complete with exaggerated gestures and giant gold chains swinging around.

-The token guy who is fighting his way out of the hood complaining about the roaches and the "crack-heads living next door". Alarmed, BET sent their best camera crew out to make a montage of roaches, crack, and over all "hoodiness".

-And as always, the so-called "Master of Physical Combat" aka: this guy
yelling to the ref, "Too much grappling! Too much grappling! Make them stand up and actually FIGHT!".

Quote of the night:
Black fighter to Ludacris: "Pick me! Pick ME! I gotz tu get'up out da hood!!"
Ludacris to his coach" "Man, what da hell they promisin' these guys? Must be somethin' I don' know 'bout..hahaha"

The episode was lame and the fights were lame. I give this episode:

I havent been watching consistantly but it's such a kick in the balls to Black people it's rediculous.

From the whole having rappers be the marketing stratigy to Crazy Horse being a coach. Just hasn't grabbed my interest.

Am I going too far out on a limb in saying that MMA is, generally, a sport very popular and driven among the white youth in America? Not just MMA, I guess - This country is primarily an anglo demographic outside of the cities and all - But it's not crazy to say some whites who spot MMA on television are watching Iron Ring and, unfortunately, getting the wrong impression of black America, right? I mean, shit. This goes well past just a cultural image being promoted, but drives it right into a wall that tries to combine violence with a culture that tries to be anything but.

This show isn't hip hop, has nothing to do with hip hop, and shouldn't be a represenative of any group of peoples idea of entertainment.

A shame, really. In every way possible. Sad because some of these guys actually have talent. Camacho and a bunch of other guys there.

Lol, I feel like I've watched the whole season thanks to this keen synopsis.

I've never heard of the Iron Ring before, anyone got a link to this tripe?

anyone got any idea when the "tournament" aspect of this show starts - we're 7 episodes in, and its nowhere in sight so far, just a 7 week long tryout highlights show

Nice use of my emails, I seriously want to get a T-Shirt with that picture. And I think its bad when I look at old pics of me with skin tight jeans and maiden shirts.
