Ring
Cage = Biased towards Wrestlers.
In a ring theres nothing for a wrestler to mash his opponent up against to just to get a takedown that would lead to LnP.
MMA was ment to be fought in open space.. and a ring is closer to open space then a cage is.. your not suppose to be trapped in a fighting environment if your using BJJ, striking, Wrestler, etc.. all a cage does is limit your movement.

I'm down with the cage and the element it adds to grappling and wrestling.

in wrestling there is no cage... no ropes.. its an open space mat.. so are we not seeing a wrestlers true takedown skills if they have nothing to jam there opponent up against to get the takedown?
I just like the challenge and difficulty of it all.. Wrestlers are more pressed to use what they are accustom to.. and you have to defend the takedowns in open space
olus when rolling im sure its better to have more open space as well.. you wouldnt have as much cage stalling.. and you do see a lot more slicker submissions in a ring IE: Paulo Filho in his pride days.

....some cages are bigger than others,some cages are very small i.e. smaller orgs. The cage the UFC uses is a bigger space and is perfect imo. I see your point on the open area and slicker subs,but I just hate when fighter`s use the ropes to get the fight back standing.....if all the orgs would use a proper size cage it would solve the debate.

Every time the ref has to stand fighters up and reposition them it potentially changes the fights outcome.
You don't play football on a baseball field and you shouldn't be fighting MMA in a boxing ring. What's your opinion? | I disagree about the helping Grapplers I think rings help traditional Wrestlers more grapplers can get pinned against the fence and most I know like some room. So if you suck at grappling and you can wrestle really good you can just take them to the corner an lay on them all day. I have my trepidations about both but let the events decide.
