I love it. The more Randy talks, the worse he looks. I have always been a fan of "you don't bring up a problem unless you have a solution".
PBF has also been undefeated his whole career. He is 39-0. He has won and defended all sorts of various titles for over 10 years!
What do you think they pay boxers who are 16-8 and never defended a title more than once?
They would probably be very lucky to get Randy Couture money, and would certainly be lucky to get Randy Couture respect, and Randy Couture status.
He is dancing and contradicting himself all over.
He went from
-About the money.
-Not about the money.
-About respect.
-About respect shown by money.
-About Fedor. If the UFC had him, he would stay.
-About not fighting in the UFC (if they get Fedor, he still wouldn't fight him in the UFC)
-Now it's about boxing money?
Floyd vs Maywhether did far more revenue than any MMA even. BY FAR. Also, the fighters promoted it. They paid for pretty much everything. They also had what? 4 fighters total to pay for that card?
Here is a fun statistic for Randy. All of the fighters put together on the UFC 77, 81, 82 cards made less than Randy alone got paid for his Tim Sylvia fight. (I am sure there is a lot more cards too, but I got sick of looking for them)
The dude is greedy. He tries to make it seem like he is fighting for "the little guy" but you can only split the pie so many ways. Fighter pay seems to be going up without Randy there. So maybe freeing up his salary is a good thing for "the little guy".

I'm fairly sure Tim's arm is gonna head back to Russia in Fedor's gym back BUT. .. .. lets just for shyts and giggles say he somehow Fujita's Fedor and then somehow finishes him off. .. I wonder what Randy's tune will change to fight wise. ..

Maybe he should have started politicking for a fighters union back when he was on good terms with the UFC instead of just trying to get more money for HIMSELF and claiming its for the little people.

He seems to be doing this all under the guise of "the fighters' best interests" and making an absolute mess of it. He should have approached it from this manner.

Randy makes more money than me. It's not fair, I guess he's going to vote Democrat for a little wealth redistribution.

Comments are sometimes taken out of context. Perhaps he was commenting on the differences in the two sports' pay scales?

I've had it with Randy since he lied about how much he got paid. Glad to see people are coming around. I just want to know what this guy's going to do already. Is he or is he not going to get his ass kicked by Minotauro.

While Randy said it was about money he never said it was not also because of the fact that they were disrespecting him and the comment is just in a topic when asked about the pay in the UFC compared to Boxing

I am one of the people who felt Randy lied to everyone about his contract and made himself look like a fool when the UFC decided to release the real amount.
However, let's actually look at what he's saying in this interview instead of being biased because of past opinions. What he says is true that PBF makes mor than the fighters combined, which does look unfair. However, the discrepancy in boxing is much more than the discrepancy in UFC. The lower-tier fighters in boxing make incredibly low amounts and don't have guaranteed contracts like some of the lower tier fighters in the UFC.
It's almost like comparing canadian and u.s economies. The rich Canadians make so much less than the rich americans, however, look at the discrepancy between the poor and the rich in both nations. U.S's gap is humungous and the poor people in U.S suffer much more than the poor in Canada.
The goal in UFC should not be to make sure the higher-tier fighters get paid more, the ultimate aim is to make sure the average and the lower-tier fighters can make a suitable income to provide for their family. Can we really say the lower-tier and average boxers make more than the average and lower-tier ufc fighter? (Note: There are many variables in the US/Canada comparison, and its not meant to be a political debate... I just want people to see the big picture in this analogy) |

I will just quote myself from a topic last year, not much has changed Quote:

It always is, it always will be, that will never change, there are always personal conflicts, but it can always be fixed with more money, just like in this case, if Dana wanted to throw much more money at Randy im sure all would be forgotten.
bottom line is Money | |
