Good debate. So give your list. No crap talking about someone's list. Just fun debate. Here's mine.
10. Tito Ortiz (and I am being objective here, if I wasn't he'd be #1 because he's my favorite.
9. BJ Penn
8. Minotauro Nogueira
7. Matt Hughes
6. Wanderlei Silva
5. Randy Couture
4. Royce Gracie
3. Chuck Liddell (as much as I don't like the guy, he dominated everyone in his path for years and avenged all of his losses except Rampage and now Jardine.
2. Bas Rutten
1. Fedor Emelianenko
If GSP defends that belt a few times, he goes on soon. He just has to show some consistency while he has the belt. And Anderson Silva is very, very close to being in the Chuck Liddell category. I think he would beat a lot of the guys in the top 10 but some time needs to pass to see if he has staying power. And we will see how Rampage fairs in the long run as well.

Randy is #5 at best. It's Mark Cuban involved though, so why not put Fedor and Randy at 1 and 2 respectively. Make yourself more money later.

Yea, I'm a big Randy fan and even support him with all this crap going on but he's 14-8 all time. That's alot of losses to be considered the 2nd best fighter ever.

I don't want to get too deep into arguing the list but did anyone else think it was strange that they put in Ken Shamrock over his brother Frank?
Arguably I think it's Frank who's had the bigger and longer lasting impact on the sport...

Top 5 Greatest MMA fighters ever (for the time they competed)
1.Royce Gracie
Not only took on the best from every style (and weight class ) in his day,but changed the game of fighting as we know it.If you don't have Royce as your #1...IMO your wrong.
2.Frank Shamrock
We are talking about a guy who can fight at 185 pounds that has beaten some of the best fighters in the world at his weight and above, including Tito Ortiz and Bas Rutten. The first extremely talented all around fighter to dominate and never lose in the UFC at 200 pounds.Frank Shamrock to me was the first guy to truly represent the label "Mixed Martial Artist."
3.Chuck Liddell-stayed dominant for years and avenged all but 2 of his losses which he may redeem before he retires, almost assuredly at least one of them.Has beaten Tito Ortiz and Randy Couture on two counts each as well other mentionable fighters, such as Vitor Belfort,Guy Mezger,Wanderlai Silva,Babalu twice and a long list of others.
4.Matt Hughes-As Dana puts it "The best welterweight of all times" Has wins over B.j. Penn,GSP,Trigg,Newton,Royce,Riggs,Lytle,Sherk,Doer kson and long list of others.
5.BJ Penn-Freak of nature.Has beaten top fighters effortlessly.Has beaten Din Thomas,Hughes,Caol Uno,Matt Serra,Gomi,Stevenson,Pulver,Renzo Gracie,Bang, and more.I am also one who believes he won the fight with GSP.Oh and more thing..BJs best days are still ahead of him.

this may shock a few of you, but I think Jeremy Horn deserves at least an honorable mention. I dont even really like Jeremy horn, but he has been in the ring over 100 times professionally and fought and beaten some of the best fighters in the world including chuck liddell.
I just think there are a lot more people that are more deserving than Randy Couture.
these lists usually bore me to tears because its usually always wrong some way or another because its hard to classify who is deserving. It starts to stray from deserving, to popularity and sheer opinion.

I don't have a problem with him being an honorable mention at all.

fedor best fighter of all time? that is fuckin bull shit. i seriously want to throw up. he's good okay, yea, so what, but hes not the best fighter of all fuckin time. i will shit in my pants if timmy beats his ass. i'm praying for it. i just wouldnt put any money on it lol.
i kinda of think chuck is the best of all time. i mean when people say ufc, they think chuck liddell. he's a house hold name. he dominated the lhw division at one time and was seemingly unstoppable. when people doubted him, he put on what could be fight of the decade w/ wandy.
big nog is actually my top fighter of all time though. the name has went through some wars and taken some of the most brutal beatings i've ever seen, but still, hasnt been stopped ever. he's a legend and in my opinion, the greatest of all time. fuck fedor.
