As far as Adrinaline/Affliction go, who outside of hard core fans even know these orgs exist? I mean, yeah so far it looks they will have a loaded HW card. But this card will cost them millions just to put together not to mention all the costs that go to putting this event on. They better hope the whole place sells out and they pay top dollar or this is going to set Aflliction back a couple mil easy. And I am sorry but if you ask any casual fan or even a casual sports fan if they know who Fedor is, they are going to be like, who??? But you ask the person if they saw the last Chuck fight or the Lesner fight and they will be like "Hell yeah!" Hell if you asked them if they are more pumped for the Kimbo fight or the Fedor fight, almost all will say Kimbo, or even Fedor who?

So the only "threat" I see to the UFC is Elite because they have a big draw in Kimbo and they have a t.v. contract.

Once again, I NEVER SAID that the UFC was falling apart or that these guys were taking out the UFC. I made the observation that these 2 organizations have signed some big names in this division that were in the UFC, many of them recently. I asked the question if there were going to be others that followed. That's it. I never said they would be successful, they were going to be number 1, nothing. Don't scan through my posts and make it out like I said something that I didn't. But in case you were wondering I was thinking that the UFC should have done everything they could to sign Fedor, to keep Arlovski, and come to a reconciliation with Couture before it got out of hand.

i know you never said the UFC is falling apart but to say just because a couple HWs leave that soon other's might leave just because of that is insane. And as far as Fedor goes, the UFC offered him crazy money, but his mangament wanted controll over his career and the UFC was not going to give that up. And until I see these fighters signing long term contracts with these new orgs I am not going to worry about the UFC having any serious competition from any one other than Elite.

And I didn't say that because a couple of heavyweights left others would follow. I was asking that as a question. Like gee, I wonder if this is an isolated case of a few guys leaving or a sign of things to come. I'm a big UFC fan and don't want to see all of their guys leave. I do think that the competition of other organizations will force Dana White into making good solid decisions again. I do think he could have controlled some of these departures better and not signing Fedor was a big mistake on his part. You give him what he wants, he's the best in the world. If Tom Brady came in to the Patriots office tomorrow and said I want 20 million a year or I'm leaving, the Patriots should say, who should we make the check out to Mr. Brady.
