If Wanderlei lost, he would be 4-6 in his last 10 fights and on a 4 fight losing streak. So no, its not preferential treatment - its the fact that there is a big difference between being 8-2 and 4-6 and being on a 1 fight win streak and a 4 fight losing streak.

Not a very good comparison, Wanderlei has lost three in a row in professional fighting. Hes 4-4 in his last eight fights, chucks 6 and 2.

So even if chuck loses his next fight hes still not riding a 3 fight losing streak. If Silva loses this its 4 in a row. How is that remotely the same?

Wandy's record doesn't tell the whole story. We all know two of those losses were against HW's one of which was way heavier than him (some people actually think he beat Hunt). He was also very sick against Hendo. But like the true warrior he is, Wandy took on all comers at all times, and now he is paying for it. Sad, I hope the UFC keeps him.

Chuck's fine, two losses in a row but he rebounded with a win.

Yea...

And his last two losses to the two Premier Fighters, are not even happened in the UFC.

I see nothing wrong with evaluating the true worth of a fighter or fighters as far as what they can do for the company. I'm not necessarily a Chuck fan, but I do agree that he has been a worthwhile investment to the UFC despite some of the losses. Dana shouldn't have to be held accountable as to why a fighter is kept or kicked..the goal is to make money which is accomplished by providing fights people want to see. Look at Crocop...it was time for him to go as his value was dropping by the day. Look at Brock Lesnar..everyone was pumped to see him till Mir tapped him..now most could care less. The UFC is business to sell PPV's and put asses in seats. Keeping fighters around while they work on making themselves a commodity is what the smaller leagues are for.

While I agree with you mostly, Dana White, as President of the UFC, should be held COMPLETELY accountable for why a person is kept or kicked. However, a company does have the right and NEED to cut a fighter when he/she is no longer a commodity. For me, the issue is the way a lot of the issues are handled. Like I said, use the WEC and develop these guys there.

Even Chuck was saying that if he lost to Wandy he would have to think about hanging it up.

I think cutting the roster down to a reasonable amount is all fine and good. I'm getting tired of seeing all these unheard of guys on PPV when I pay 55 bucks to see it but they bury guys like Arlovski and Diego in prelims.

But when big name talent goes that people still pay to watch, there's cause for concern there.

I personally think its a good idea on Dana's part. I mean kick out the not so interesting fighters, so they can learn how to fight in a different place and possibly even fight more often than they would get to being a noob in the UFC. No money lost out of Zuffa's pocket. Then if they somehow become a Robert Berry or something, zuffa can say "Hey, wanna come back to the big show?"

I think the only people that have been let go are people that deserve it, and people who have loosened their tongue about their employer one too many times. In some instances, the UFC let guys go so they could get signed by WEC their sister org.

everyones giving dana a big thumbs up or down for cutting dead weight... cmon hes doing most of these guys a favor. i mean really hoiw popuilar can you get getting your ass kicked on the undercard twice a year. at least this way the guys can get a couple more fights a year and try to build their names up enough till they can bring in the fans then dana will be more then happy to fill their wallets. win win
