Great read Bj is the fucking man its crazy how hes had as many big wins as hes had and still be called overrated. If he beats GSP in a rematch I think everyone will stop talkin shit but if he loses its gonna be worse than ever. Imo the fight is a toss up right now just like it was the first time except this time it should be 5 rounds if it works out right. In thats case there shouldnt be any controversy this time around

I love how BJ losing to GSP and Hughes is just magically brushed aside.
Penn is absolutely a great fighter. No doubt about it. But the guy isn't invincible. He isn't overrated, but he is overhyped.
Penn nuthugging is equally as bad as GSP nuthugging.. maybe worse....

Penn nuthugging is equally as bad as GSP nuthugging.. maybe worse.... | Those losses shouldn't be brushed aside, but they are both very questionable losses along with his loss to Machida (imo)... Penn could just have easily been undefeated at this point. In all four of his losses he looked like the better fighter. In the case GSP he was easily the better fighter... GSP is just better at manipulating the rules and is there for a better competitor, but no one can watch that fight and honestly say he was the better fighter.

That post gives as much backstory as you need for Penn. People who say he is overrated baffle the fuck out of me. You just can't read their posts the same or take them seriously if they actually consider Penn overrated, and their knowledge of anything related to fighting is put into question. I am eagerly waiting for BJs move up to WW after his title defense to do a rematch against GSP. That'll be a fight to remember for sure.
EDIT:Constructed my sentence wrong.

Dude exaggerated a couple times to make his point, but all-in-all BJ is a badass. All his losses were either super close to heavier guys, and one where he was winning until breaking his rib. I have him at #3 on my P4P right now.
The best thing this post did for me though was made me wonder what ever happened to Rodrigo Gracie.

People forget he won the Munuals a week after he earned his black belt in BJJ
Also in America he was decisively beating Black belts in our turnies when he was only a white belt.
So when people go happy Mr. so and so is a black belt and Blah Blah beat him I am telling you not all Blackbelts are created equal.
