It's really too bad he's a walking Toolbox, otherwise I'd love the guy.
I can;t knock his accomplishments, and I cant sit here and say he's over rated. He's a damn good fighter, and is definitely one of the sports best..but dammit he's an ass.

Its undeniable how good BJ is.Even for me!

I think BJ's flexability has alot more to do with his JJ success than any belt he has ever held.You would swear he was made of latex the way he unnaturaly bends,and how he never bleeds.Fuck if he had a nipple on top of his head he would even look like a condom.

The correct term is a reservoir tip, not nipple.

Just a lesson in condom mechanics. Kind of like quantum mechanics, you learn both in high school and college.

I agree...he is an awesome fighter and I love to watch him, but he definitely can be an ass. What is up with running over, drinking your opponents blood (which he had to push trainers and medical personnel out of the way to do), and then being humble after acting like a dick? It is like this little light switch goes off in his head and he says "Christ, that was a douchebag thing to do, I need to calm the fuck down."

Another example: holding the choke on Jens Pulver. There was no need for that! He destroyed him. He made his point.

Those crazy antics are what make BJ who he is. Plus he did say he was gonna lick the blood of his face. It was only fair that he did what he said he was gonna do.

In reference to the Pulver thing, they had bad blood going into the fight and maybe his emotions got the better of him at the time. Once the fight was done, so was the bad blood. BJ is the man and in time GSP will just be another victim.

Just be happy he didnt follow up on kissing his victims like he did to Hughes.

He didn't break a rip, he tore some caratlidge(sp?) in his rips, big difference. If he broke a rip and kept fighting he could have easily died from a putting a hole in his lung. I am starting to question how severe that injury was, Penn himself admitted in the lastest countdown show that he went to a bar and drank the night of the Hughes fight. If the injury was really that bad wouldn't have he gone to the hospital? Penn to his credit has never used the injury as an excuse and gave all credit to Matt Hughes which is why I give the guy props.

Even though a lot of my post and the above paragraph may make it out that I do not like Penn, that is not true. I think the guy is a hell of a fighter and one of the most exicting to watch. I also like the fact that for the most part he is a really respectful guy. I just can't stand all the BJ Penn nuthuggers that ruin liking BJ Penn for everyone else. The guy is one of the P4P best in the world, but I would never put money on him in a fight against Anderson Silva.

To sum it up, Penn is a class act and a great fighter to watch. I am pretty glad the guy is only 29 so he may have 6-7 years left in the tank before hanging it up.

Its the same with all fighters, I think it just shows up with BJ Penn more because he has a lot more fans.

Its just the fans that blindly root for BJ Penn and are unwilling to accpet the fact that the guy could be human and that he may have to lost to GSP, Pulver, Hughes, or anyone else for that matter legitly. Pretty much the fans that believe that Penn would submit Anderson Silva easily and would even hold his own in the stand-up. When in truth, the chances of that happening are slim to none.
