Tito lost to Machida, yeah, clearly he did. But I still feel like he can compete at a high level, maybe never again like he did when he was champ but to label him a wash out is very unfair. He was the aggressor in the fight, he wasn't afraid to stir it up. Machida is just very good at counterstriking and being elusive with excellent takedown defense. He's like a younger, faster, Liddell without the power. I still believe that Tito could take Jardine, T. Silva, Rashad in a rematch, and could be in it with alot of the upper tier guys, not neccessarily beat them, but give a fight.

I'm glad he's going elsewhere but I would have liked to see him and Wanderlei Silva in a rematch.

I didn't know he should be ashamed of his mixed heritage. Does that mean all the Brazilian fighters shouldn't bring their flags like so many do?

I cant believe I'm saying this but here goes...

It sounds kind of odd that Tito the business man first, seems to be hurting his value in "free agency" by saying he is definitely not going back to the UFC. It just seems he would be worth more if all parties thought they were in the bidding but it is Tito.

I also wouldn't doubt to some degree that it is just spin control as Dana may have said afterwards, Get the F outta here.

I don't think it's Dana's call as to whether or not Tito is allowed back in. Tito has walked away before and it was the Fertitas who brought him back. This bad blood between Tito and Dana goes back a LOONNNNGG way. Dana has even said he created Tito and we know what a crock that is.

I think it is absololutely Dana's call, the Fertita's can do whatever they want, since they are the owners, but Dana runs the day to day and I believe its his call unless the Fertita's feel the need to step in and do differently. Yeah there bad blood goes way back, but I believe it was Dana that said he was out of the Tito Ortiz business, which pretty much shuts the door on Tito, unless Dana sees big dollar $igns bringing him back. Dana let Vitor go when he lost to Randy, Chuck, and Tito b/c he thought he couldn't handle the top tier guys @ 205, Tito especially coming off of a loss is in a similar situation.

I find that a little more respectful than when Vargas brings out the mexican flag only. De La Hoya's Mexican/American shorts and robe when he fought JCC is one of my favorite in boxing. It's ok in my opinion he's jsut giving respect towards his heritage and respect towards his home.

I'm actually glad he is leaving and I hope he tries to promote a show on his own bc I have been wondering if a big name like Tito Ortiz can draw big numbers with out the UFC brand.

Dana is not there boss. He is the promoter and the fighters are in essence free lance contractors. They for the most part have a choice is doing what Dana wants or not doing it. That is if it's not expressly written in there contracts. And if it is not they can tell Dana to suck there balls. However, that is rarely a wise decision.

That's very true but Dana said the last 2 times that Tito had contract negotiations that he was done and the Fertitas intervened. Tito actually negotiated his last contract without Dana at all, he went directly to the Fertitas.

I personally find it very disrespectful when does the whole burrial celebration thing after the fight. It's ok to celebrate, but the whole pre-rehearsed routine takes it a little too far. That's one of the reasons i've never liked him. His T-shirts are pretty gay too. Shows his lack of intelligence and overall class. I mean, to go out of your way, to make a t-shirt disrespecting the other fighter before the fight even happens....that's just shows 0 class in my book.
