Gina really impressed me with her stand up. She has some impressive power in her strikes. She was so much bigger then her opponent. I also thought her mui ty looked pretty good

Also, does anyone know why she couldn't make weight the previous 2 times, and why the specific weight class was created for her personally?
American Gladiator requires her to be a certain weight. I believe last night they said 155-170 lbs.

As for her saying Fuck you Shaw im injured I don't know why she didn't. But i know she tried to turn down the fight and I also seen comments coming from her camp about not wanting her to take the fight.

maybe it was all a trick just so she could come in over weight, i don't know.

but i do know filming for AG got over 3 weeks ago an their was a weight she had to have for the show.

If she had to have that minimum weight for the AG show, that makes it a bit rough. I suppose if she was at the low end - 155 - then she could have maybe made weight easier, but having 3 weeks to train for a fight doesn't make much sense any way you look at it.

Hey the girl has to make a living, and if she had to maintain a weight of 155-170 lbs for American Gladiator, and had only 3 weeks to train and drop it all, that would be rough for any fighter - male or female. Especially if she was having her "time of the month" during the weigh-ins, because we all know women get all bloated and retain water like the dickens then. Training with bad menstrual cramps can't be any joy either...lol

Maybe if there was a MMA organization like the UFC that would put her under contract with a guaranteed pay that she could live on and be able to bank some serious cash, she would be a bit more dedicated. Then maybe she could give up her day job and just focus on training full time like some of the better MMA guys do.

It's clearly an uphill battle all the way every day for female MMA fighters. It's not like they get the same respect, perks, recognition, or opportunities that male MMA fighters do. That's got to be a bit discouraging for all of the gals in MMA at best.

It's too bad too, because the girl is damn tough and can fight, just like most of the women in MMA. And as we all saw, they are just as entertaining, just as exciting, and just as able to draw a fan base as any male MMA fighter.

And she (and some of the other gals in MMA) aren't too hard on the eyes either...lol

IMHO, who ever has the good sense to finally put on an all women MMA program is going to bank some serious cash. I personally like to watch them as much as the guys, and I think it's a huge yet untapped resource for fans.

EDIT: And foundstar, thanks for neg'ing me for quoting Dana. Sorry to burst your bubble dude, but Dana has made it clear that he thinks that women are only qualified to be ring girls, that there isn't enough of them that are worth showing, and that they can't fight. Last night and every other women's MMA fight I have watched proves that he is full of baloney. So as long as he says ridiculous stuff like that, I and every other person here will undoubtably quote him. That's not fighter bashing, because he isn't anything that resembles an MMA fighter, and it came out of his own mouth. So if you are going to neg everyone that quotes something that Dana says that is inappropriate and then chooses to comment on it - you are going to be one busy guy...lol

So right back at you dude...neg'ed

^^^You are correct. When first asked about women in the UFC, Dana said he personally did not like to see women fighting. I'm sure, like always, his story will change depending on the circumstances.
