I think Rogers should shut up and just beat Kimbo up. After seeing what Rogers did to Thompson and the dude he fought last night, I doubt they'll put him up against their highly protected star. They'll let him go for the sake of dragging more cash out of Slice.

No, I dont think EXC is dumb enough to release Rogers. (one of their best HW prospects) They'll definately make this fight happen. Shaw isnt a moron. He's been in the boxing game for so long he knows how to sell a fight. This is selling a fight ladies and gentleman. It's really a win/win situation. If Kimbo wins, he proves the critics and Rogers wrong. If Rogers wins they just "create" an additional "star" .... This great for EXC.

I see your point but this is the whole problem. Rogers should have been the one to fight Kimbo in the first place, he just beat thompson. So unless he gets extremely vocal and forces the issue (just like he did) he'll never get it.

Personally I think it's pretty smart.

I've been a staunch supporter of EliteXC for a while now, long before I even knew who their figurehead, Gary Shaw, was. I just knew that if there was someone out there that could compete with the UFC, it would be them. After this weekend, I'm starting to think they are going to ride or die with Kimbo. I just don't understand. They should be pushing this fight hard so when Rogers would beat Kimbo, they can market the guy hard as the man who took down Kimbo. I just don't understand the logic. Then again Elite probably saw they were backed into a corner and the only way to avoid Kimbo having his tail handed to him by Rogers is using this as an excuse to release him. Ridiculous move if the rumor turns out to be true.

Where did you hear this rumor again??? I saw this same rumor on sherdog by a white belt. Other then that I haven't seen this rumor on any website.
