At the UFC website it states these odd rules

22. Engaging in an unsportsmanlike conduct that causes an injury to an opponent. (I guess throwing elbows trying to cut someone open doesn't count)

31. Throwing in the towel during competition.(if the ref doesn't stop it your screwed)

24. Using abusive language in the ring or fenced area.
(You can punch the shit out of someone but don't say Damn , no one likes a potty mouth..)

and they dont let you throw in the towel to stop the fight?

i've seen nick get a warning a couple times from a ref for talking shit during a fight. i've seen it happen to spencer fisher too

22 Means injuring your opponent while breaking the rules will cause you to lose if he cannot continue.

31 Means throwing in the towel is a foul that causes you to lose. So you can still throw in the towel it does the same thing.

24 That one is a little odd but the fighters should keep their mouth shut anyway so they don't get their jaw broken
