I guess Kimbo isn't the end of MMA after all.

the wec puts on the best damn fight cards all the time, and they're for free. but the xc event was kinda a let down and i don't think it exposed the sport in the right light with rap music and a circus freak for a main event.Faber pulver def could be considered among foty canidates for a five round war

You can reach multiple different conclusions from these numbers.
On the one hand it's very encouraging for MMA that the average viewership of the EXC show basically exceeded that of the NBA playoffs (across the 3 channels).
On the other, the potential claim that this viewership represents a revolution in the popularity of MMA in the US is contradicted by the fact that the EXC show barely drew more eyeballs than UFC 75 which isn't on network TV but rather on a channel that not everyone has.
Other conclusions are possible as well. All in all however, it's all encouraging; I don't see any negatives in there.

Hell, I think the WEC numbers are very good considering how many fewer people have Versus in comparison to Spike. Everyone who has cable has Spike. Not everyone with cable, however, gets Versus.
Put a UFC card on broadcast television, and watch how high the numbers go.
