Florian wants no part of the hospital visit he'd always remember as the Penn beating. What UFC LW wants to fight Penn now? No one.
He's A monster at this weight.
I don't get the disrespectful thing either brother.

.....in the recent audio interview Dana said he did want Penn to fight the winner of Florian/Huerta......but went on to say the Penn/GSP fight could happen by New Years. Dana did mention that if BJ had his way he would go up to MW and LHW or some kind of catch weight. Obviously to prob fight Anderson and avenge his loss to Machida.

It's a ways away, but Penn seems consumed with being the best ever. | I agree with this 100%, at this point I think Penn is motivated and hungry enough to chase any fight and/or any fighter that he feels will make him widely recognized as the best fighter on the planet.
I dont think its about belts right now with him. Its about recognition.

It's a ways away, but Penn seems consumed with being the best ever. | I thought that if it was catch weight that they can't put the title belts up for grabs. Maybe somebody can look into that. I know that Travis Lutter's catch weight against Anderson was non-title, but I'm not sure if that was because Anderson was pissed the fuck off at him or not.
Honestly, the making weight thing hasn't really been that much of an issue in the past, and especially not for title fights... I mean, what dumbass wants to lose half their purse because they are a fatass?! I can see Gina Carano missing weight for a title fight...LoL, I bet Gary shaw pushes for the women's division to be a 145 division.

One thing is BJ is my fav fighter and I want to see him fight all the people mentioned. However, he needs to be careful moving up so he doesnt degrade in his conditioning as he gets heavier...will be a big challenge, not so much for welterweight but for middeweight and LHW.

One thing people are disreguarding is the weight difference. How much do you think GSP walks around at? 185 190? And BJ, 170ish? I can imagine, reguardless of how talented BJ is, on the ground and in the clinch that extra weight is going to make a difference against a guy with the talents of GSP. Not taking anything away from BJ, but that extra weight on GSP is not going to be from twinkies. It will be pure muscle.
If it were a standard 5 round title fight GSP by TKO. If it is a 3 round catch weight fight, GSP by decision.

With the leaps in skill both fighters have made and how amazing the first war was. I say this could be fight of the year easily. If they come in like theydid against Hughes, Serra, Sherk, and Stevenson. Make it fight of the decade.

Unless GSP lays and prays he's at a tremendous risk of being submitted. Not to mention; who's to say it can even get to the ground. Bj's take down defense is legendary. In fact, Sherk has stated in many of the interviews after the fight that he didn't even try to take Penn down because he knew how difficult it is to do.
Both fighters could win absolutely, but I don't think it's as clear cut as you're making it. If anything, I would say the advantage goes to Penn as the only real advantadge I give GSP other than size (which from a guy who took Machida to a razor thin decision shouldn't be a factor) would be his wrestling, which assuming his cardio is as good as it has been recently will be negated by penn's take down defense.
