I think the plan is for Koscheck to fight Burkman, possibly on this same card.

Oh well, I can't have everything I want, huh?? | Though it sounds like an exciting matchup, I don't see how a fight between them at this time makes the next contender for the title a clear picture. If Koscheck wins, I don't think it makes him clearly ahead of Diego (with them being tied 1 to 1) nor does Diego betting Koscheck prove anything that his last victory over him didn't already prove (at this time).
I think Riggs is legitamately tough enough opponent that Diego can't be overconfident or under prepared for, while at the same time serves a tune-up time matchup to keep the ring rust of him.
Of course if Hughes loses, then a rematch will be a most between him and GSP. Then a tougher/marquee matchup for Diego may be in the cards.

i think Diego can win this one, but its actually a bigger test then Karo IMO, just because Riggs is stronger then Diego. people say that Riggs is overrated, he chokes, bla-bla, but he's exciting and really strong
we saw how easily Frank Trigg dominated smaller guys, similar to Diego, but we'll see his strength against someone his size, quite possibly bigger then him. if he beats Riggs, then i'll consider him ready for a title shot, and hope that he receives a royal beating from the champ instead
i'm hoping Riggs punches Diego's teeth through the back of his head, and that he can come in focused after big personal problems.

i donno.. this may just be me... but say (and these are pretty good odds in my biased opinoin) but would it not be a really good match to see after GSP beats hughes diego fight koscheck that card and then ahve diego fught GSP?? cuz imo riggs isnt anywhere near ready to where a title contender is.. i mean who else is there for diego to fight?? i dono i just think that it would be a great first title defense or good fight between GSP and Sanchez no matter if it is for the belt or not... but GSP would win

this is a stupid idea for a fight...why are they bringing the quality of Diego's opponents down after he beat Karo? yes Karo is a far superior fighter to Jor Riggs. i like Riggs much much much better then Diego, but he doesn't stand a chance...especially with all that has gone on in his personal life. i doubt he'll be mentally focused by then and unfortunately, the cancer known as Diego Sanchez will remain undefeated...

and his wife had emergency surgery afterwards. he was supposed to fight at 65 or something, but he pulled out after the surgery, and his family is on vacation for a little while after that.
