aside from the back kick he got dominated. He fought hard but no way in the world did he win that fight. He spent 75% of the fight on his back getting elbowed in the head.
Matt Hamill is the real deal and will be a tough fight for anyone in that division.

Looks completely like Titos style, he's just not as good at doling out damage in the guard. Was hoping he'd at least try and pass the guard. He keeps that up and we're going to see a lot of decisions out of him and I think he's capable of more. Wrestling doesn't have to be boring. He's young yet, we'll see next time.

I am a big fan of both of these guys. I gotta say I expected more out of both of them. Not heart or conditioning-wise, that's for sure, but in standup. Matt looks SO very beatable by a decent puncher and Seth's punching frankly looked pretty bad. He looked like he was afraid to pull the trigger on all of his striking.

He was starting to tee off torwards the end.I think had Seth not have got cut he could've pulled of the upset.I'm really not impressed with the overly hyped Matt hamill. He's a decent wrestler ,but since when did mma ,become wrestling? The only real reason he was even on TUF and has gotten the hype he has is ,b/c he's deaf.

Seth definitely doesn't have anything to be ashamed about. I'm glad Seth is back.

agreed. not everybody can make it on wrestling alone, but you gotta think that matt would have been a little dominant, but at no time did he go for the kill, him being a competive wrestler i thought he would be a little more hungry. still, chalk this up as a good start for the cow wrestler.

Like I said, I'll let Cruz argue his case. I argued Cruz on AIM when he first said it. I said Hamill definitely won, although it was a boring way to win. He out-wrestled and controlled position meaning more win-time during each round on the clock. He was hurt bad in round two and I thought Seth would finish him. The way Cruz was talking, Seth almost finished him in round 3. I remember the closer finish in terms of me getting excited during the fight being the moment in round two where he knocked him down with a kick and hammered him with punches while Hamill was in the four point position. Round 3 I remember Petruzelli having more moments than in round two, but none as spectacular as round two. Either way, I totally expected a Hamill decision win. I think my one line response of the fight to Cruz before he even said a word to me was something along the lines of "Seth had the fight in the bag several times, but let it slip." And that was before the judges decisions were announced on TV.
Regardless, all the blood/swelling Seth endured, and the obvious disadvantage in wrestling (aside from takedown attempt number one, which while Rogan was hyping Hamill's takedown ability Seth was stuffing it to death to my surprise) he really never quit. They stopped to check many times where both "Big" John and the doctor were clearly audibly detected on TV giving him the opportunity to be "bailed out of the fight" and his responses were all able to be heard on TV as well - and for him that's a good thing because he never showed signs of wanting to stop. He's a tough S.O.B. The stoppages for cut/swelling checks and all the blood, on both sides, spilled in that fight made the drama level awesome as well as the other story - Hamill dominating wrestling (where the fight takes place) and controlling position, meaning winning the majority of each round, but every round Seth had moments where you sat on the edge of your seat wondering if this is it - the upset.
In the end, awesome fight. Seth did his fans proud IMO.
