Five Ounces of Pain | Another setback for MMA in New York

This had to be part of Dana's big announcement. The timing is too coincidental. The vote was supposed to happen on the day that was chosen of the 3rd delay of the announcement date and then we get a ho-hum announcement of Fertita becoming more a part of the day to day.

Its just very odd that NEW YORK, I mean NEW YORK is being conservative. This is the sports capitol of America basically. It would'a been GREAT to have say a NYE card in New York city. How sick would that be? Well hopefully they actually do come around in 2009.

Well this is what happens when you let old people make decisions like this. From what I have heard after teh bill was introduced one of the members went on a full blown rant about how it was bare-knuckle cage fighting and there isn't even a ref and nobody refuted him.

Hopefully Lorenzo will be able to use his influence and change things next time.

Are you serious? Jesus Christ, I swear I can't wait until the baby boomers get replaced by Generation X and such as the "old people" at least we know how to use GOOGLE and or Youtube for God's sake.

errr. California is the sports center of the country dude. it's not even close.

And I don't see why this is such a big deal for fans. For the industry it's big because CA and NY would be in, but as far as fans, less than 15 miles away we already had a UFC in Jersey

I forget where I read the info but it was someplace reliable.

I think that is why they all tried to change their vote after. The angry guy (I will call him old fogie #1) swayed everyone agianst it but after the vote one of the other guys (call him old fogie #2) remember that bald guy (call him Dana) came and talked to them and it isn't bad anymore and then once everyone else remember this they all wanted to change their votes.
