Hermes Franca will probably get one of the first title shots against Sherk, but I see that being a fairly easy win for Sherk.

I think Sherk will be a smaller version of Matt Hughes strength wise and be able to just toss guys around and pound the hell outta them.
Florian may be able to catch him in a submission, but I doubt it. I say Sherk wins and then we see him take on Franca, Melvin, and Stevenson.

This division is far too competitive for any one person to 'dominate' imo. These guys are all so fast and so skilled, a flash knockout can come outa nowhere at anytime. Sherk, Hermes, Stevenson, Fisher ...... guys we haven't even heard of yet ..... the list goes on and on.
I see frequent title changes at LW.

I think Sherk vs Florian for the vacated belt is a joke. It should of been Mark Hominick who beat the self proclaimed champ Yves Edwards vs the last person to hold the belt Jens Pulver. I know he lost his last fight, but this should have been his return fight in my opinion. My thought, Jens Pulver vs Mark Homminick

i kind of agree. giving the belt away this quick seems premature. just when the lw division is getting really interesting. i am with what a lot of people on here are saying....i believe that the belt will be passed around a lot of different fighters in this division. there's a bunch of potential champs in this division. i don't see the winner of this fight holding the belt very long.

problem is, what if Jens came back and dominated with ease?
he got totally spanked in Pride's LW division by Gomi and Sakurai, their number 1 and 2 guys, while he was supposed to be the best LW in the UFC.
so Pride would look a lot better if they just gave Pulver his belt back and he dominated the UFC's LW division

Pride is better in the LW division. Ufc would have to admit that. I don't see any UFC LW fighters in the top 10
