i cant say im surprised i figured he would retire after the last fight if he lost.but i always liked evan and he was a pretty tough guy,and had some exciting fights in his career and did manage to hold the belt,so all in all he had a pretty good career

Evan Tanner is just one of those dudes you can't help but root for. It hurt me to watch that fight against Grove. It would be cool if the UFC put him on in some other aspect.

yeah he had a great fight career but i still feel like whatever hes missing, (a significant other?, kids?) and once he gets that and hes 100% healthy then he should fight up to his undeniable potential that he once succeeded with. but hes prolly the type of guy that wont drop down to wec. also, if ufc let him go(i dont think they will though because hes a really respected fighter and person) i bet any organization would pick him up real quick. even if he cant become the champion fighter that he once was fueled as, everyone loves him and would pay to see him win or lose again. war tanner

I hope he retires gracefully.

Every man has to do it at some point, and I'd rather not see him go out like Ken Shamrock or Gracie or Tank.
He kinda already has, in his last 2 showings...

The world has evolved, you can't do everything with sheer will power.
Evan's time as a top 10 fighter has slipped by.

He's had a great ride and he should look back, enjoy it ... then train the next generation.

Respectfully,
~Storm

Put him as a coach on the TUF. He tried doing it on his own. I say give him a shot. Why not.

Fihlo is the champ at 185, but it doesn't really matter. He is probably done as a upper echelon fighter, I'm not saying he cant compete in a weaker organization, but I don't think we'll see the man who dominated Terell or Baroni again. I don't want to see him get dropped on his head again, especially by less than great fighters.

Tito WAS great when they fought.

I was really hoping that Evan would pull that fight out against Grove. He didnt look like the warrior that had fought Franklin and been in many other octagon battles. Tanner has been one of my favorite fighters to watch in the UFC. Im not sure what his health issues are but I wish him the best in whatever he does. I just hope his recent struggles dont turn him to drinking and gambling again.

War Tanner

It's sad to see a man who accomplished so much leave the game in a heap, broken down and broke financially. You look at his accomplishments as a fighter and know the man can barely afford to live. And it's all his self destructive lifestyle, but that doesn't mean you can't feel bad for the guy. God bless the guy and may he find what he's looking for. Only God can give him the guidance that he needs.
