It's hard to get your point because you're all over the place. Make your point but do it intelligently.
BJ Penn belongs at WW. Whether or not he deserves a title shot is the argument but he will never be beat at LW. He needs to move up.

i mean he is the champ at LW so its not like he isnt proven.. but granted he is 0-2 in his las WW fights but we all know the circumstances on those fights...
im with the ppl that say fight KenFlo/Huerta first THEN fight GSP/Fitch but hey $ is $ and Dana loves $... but for us fans which fight is going to be more competitive and more fun to watch.. KenFlo or GSP (my opinions on winners)... my vote is for GSP vs Penn II ftw

I think Penn would beat Fitch, but I think GSP can take him again! Just my opinion.

While I would personally love for this fight to happen, I do not agree with how it is taking place. The last time BJ fought at 170 he lost. I don't think its fair to everyone else in the WW division that just because its BJ Penn that he can just jump a weight class and immediately get a title fight. He should have to fight a couple top 5 WW's first. It just doesnt seem right to me. Maybe they are doing it this way because BJ demanded it be so and the fact that he has fought in this weight class before...but I still dont agree with it. Every time a fighter enters a new weight class he should have to earn his right to a title shot by beating the top contenders of that weight class.
Look at what they are doing with Anderson. They arent immediately giving him a title shot.

I would rather see Thiago fight for the title but I'm not surprised Penn is getting a shot first.

This isn't even the first time BJ Penn jumped up from LW to WW and got an immediate title shot, either. The first Penn-Hughes fight was conducted under that circumstance.
I personally want to see this fight, but I agree that as stacked as 170 is, it's not fair to them to see BJ jump right into a title shot.
However, to be as fair as can be, IMO after Fitch there is no clearcut #1 contender. You could claim Alves is, but the fact that he didn't make weight should militate against him. Koscheck already lost decisively to GSP, and neither Davis, Diego, Swick, nor Karo are deserving of a title shot right at this time.
The 170 picture needs to resolve itself, and I do think it's fair to expect it to do that with Penn as part of it rather than jumping right ahead all of it, but if the UFC is going to let him jump right in line, at least it's jumping in front of a line that doesn't (IMO) have a clear leader right now.
