I don't want to see MMA to become like boxing.....ever. I would like the top guys to get paid 1-2 million per fight eventually though.

Are athletes overpaid? Yes, but it is a simple matter of supply a demand. If the teams have the money and the demand for success then they are going to pay whatever they need to

I meant on the high end (ie. DLH or PBF), when someone is 'forced' to give away their life (as they know it) and becomes a celebrity, they should definitely be paid accordingly

I have a serious problem with that, more-so on the ownership side but I guess it just boils down to greed in our society

The WEC while under the Zuffa umbrella does not generate the same money as the UFC but their payroll is also higher than anyone else's. I would consider them comparable to a strikeforce or elite xc.
We can't use the affliction payscale for awhile. I don't care if they pay all of there fightiers 100k, if they fail to make a profit as a fight league and go under in a year then it is all pointless.

If Affliction is still around and strong 2, 3, 5 years from now, then we can use it as a comparison. Otherwise we can't.

I think with the coming affliction event we will see the big names get paid big, but in future events the no name guys will be getting the 1k, or 2k to show/win.

I guess the overall point I am trying to make is you cant use a company that might not last as a comparision until AFTER it has proven it will be around for awhile. This will take more than 1 event.
