This is what pisses me off about message boards.
Where the hell is everyone that always bitches and moans about the UFC payscale. There are $1000 dollar purses on this card. I bet those guys wish they were in the UFC where the lowest payday on a UFN was like 3000.

Is that a typo, or did Southworth's opponent really only make two-hundred dollars?

Also Mastiff, the reason everyone bitches about UFC and not an org's like this (Strikeforce) is because UFC is the largest MMA org in the world and if you're fighting there you deserve to be payed like it. Dana claims it's the "NFL" of MMA, but you won't see any pro football player getting payed $1500 to show, $1500 to win.

the figures INCLUDE bonuses, so Thompson was guaranteed $25 g's then was given a win bonus of $10 g's to make his $35 Quote:

Every org has their own payscale. Until we see the Affliction payscale we won't be able to compare theirs. Right now the UFC is the big dog and they have the best OVERALL paydays for their fighters. The WEC while under the Zuffa umbrella does not generate the same money as the UFC but their payroll is also higher than anyone else's. I would consider them comparable to a strikeforce or elite xc.
ARMNHC said it best that all mma fighter pay is retardedly low, however the UFC is the only org that has had the staying power to steadily increase their pay over the last 2-3 years.
Quality of the show, fighters, and the medium that it is given to us will determine revenue growth in the future. Pretty much every other org needs to follow (to some degree) the UFC business model if they want to be successful.
