I think the July 19th dual events actually are taking away some buzz from UFC 86. You have to admit there are more posts about UFC -vs- Affliction and everything that surrounds it (Fedor returns, Anderson at 205, etc) than there is about Jackson - Griffin. I also think the long lay-offs between title defenses to coach TUF is starting to back-fire. You can't maintain interest with non-diehard fans when they haven't seen the champ fight for a year...hell, they'll start to forget who he is.

Even though pretty much everyone on this forum is well aware of UFC 86, I think there probably is less hype amoung the casual fan base.

I'm deep into Rainbow Six 2 for the 360 right now and I've never noticed anything like that.

Any maps/directions that i can check out to see for myself?

There's more discussion about the affliction event right now than the UFC that's going Saturday.

It's a horrible time anyway. how many people are on the lake this Saturday? or at the beach, or in the mountains? the fourth of july was a stupid time to do this.

He was right on target in my mind.

I'm one of those not interested in this card....reasons are:

1) Jackson vs Hendu was ok but could have been better and went 5 rounds...After watching Silva submit Hendu in 2 I see the light heavy weight champion as the weakest link out of the 4 ufc champions

2)Forrest has one great fight against Shogun but other than that I haven't been too impressed.

3)Patrick Cote on the upper main card ?

4) Kos vs Lytle looks promising but not enough for me to order the event...I will save my money for Affliction and the August ufc which look much better

I kinda agree with the guy. I will watch the event for free at a local bar with my buddies, but would not pay the PPV price. I just don't think the match-ups are that exciting, including the main event. If Rampage wins, it will be "I told you so"; if Forrest wins, people will still question him regardless, so not much will change in the division, IMO. The rest of the card lacks the excitement and adrenaline-pumping match-ups. Many of the fights are one-name fights where a well-known fighter fights a less known opponent. That plus the timing equals less interest, as I see it.

I think this can be the "Sleeper" card of the year. How many times have unanticapated cards been suprising great and suprisingly exciting? I think it is more often the case then over-hyped cards not living up to all the anticipation leading up to them.

They are great matchups and very exciting fighters... I think TUF bit itself in the ass this time and burnt fans out over the exposure of the coaches. I think instead of title fighters they should just get fighters that don't like eachother from now on to make the main event more interesting.

....I agree, imo this card is very solid from top to bottom, maybe not spectacular names to the casual fan....but this will be a great night of fights and possibly the best UFC so far this year. I`m really looking foward to Aurelio vs. Griffin,Cote vs. Almeida and Stevenson vs. Tibau

There isn't much hype for this fight, also it seems we are over saturated with UFC events.
UFC should do what the WWE does have a live show every week and hype up your PPV card. Its costs WWE 1.5million to show RAW each week, I am sure the UFC could put on a cheaper show like what they do in the WEC on versus.

A 2 or 3 hour show each week with 4 fights would be ideal, it would replace the UFN event.
Also TUF will end in the next 2 years the rating will just keep going down until spike is forced to cancel it and replacing it with a live weekly show is their best option.
