Lets take smoogys MW rankings and lets look at some of them.


Filho - Show me where he has beaten a bunch of top comp, lately he has just looked like a shell of his former self. Still has a lack of wins over top comp.

Hendo - Again he has not beaten a bunch of Top MW's either, a few of his wins at MW were controversial.

Robbie Lawler - Really who has he beat.

Misaki - Same here too, doesn't have many top wins.

Okami- His biggest was getting knocked out by Anderson only to have it be a win.

Akiyama - Same goes for him, outside of Kang what top fighters has he beaten, I mean you could say Melvin but out side of his sick fucking stand up the guy has a pretty shit ground game.

Mousasi - his biggest win was Kang again he falls into the category of lack of top comp.

Lindland - Has no top wins over MW's in the last few years.

Trigg - Doesn't really have many top wins at MW.

Almeida - Who has he beaten in the last 4 years

Mayhem - not many top wins.

Kang - What top wins does he exactly have.


And no i am not calling everyone one of these guys can, over rated or anything because they are all good.

But I can make a case for pretty much everyone on this list to be over rated. But yet no one says anything about them, they just pick on Franklin.

I mean by Smoogys logic most of them are Over rated because not many of them have top elite wins. Some just have wins over 1 guy on the top 10 an wins over a bunch of smaller fighters.

Misaki has a bunch of great wins, Filho too. I think you need to decide on 1-2 points and focus on them instead of rambling all over the place. Also note how the guys you listed pretty much all have faced 2-3 of each other while Franklin just has the fight with Okami. He needs to take on some better ranked opponents

Really, i didn't know Lawler has faced any top 10 fighters.

I didn't say they had no top fighter, i just said most of them haven't faced many top fighters.

And Misaki has a bunch of great wins, lol no he doesn't. Would those great wins include Baroni and Ed Herman. Henderson and Kang are good wins and the win against Yoshihiro didn't count even though he knocked him out.

I haven't said Misaki wasn't a good fighter, he just hasn't fought a bunch of top comp.

Filho has beat 1 current top 10 fighter.

Misaki - Has beat 2

Lawler - 1 depending if you have Trigg in the top 10, 0 if Trigg isn't top 10.

Ricardo - Beat 2 depending on what top 10 your looking at, but that was almost 5 years ago.

Henderson - has 1 win over a current top 10 fighter

Mousasi - Has 1

Kang - 0

Okami - 0 I am not going to count Anderson because he got knocked out and won by dq

Akiyama - has 1

Nate - Has 1, can't count Misaki 3 times

Anderson - Has 3 depending on the rankings

Franklin - 1

Like i said a case can be really made about everyone not fighting top ranked fighters.

And 4 of these fights have a win over Misaki. 2 have wins over Kang


So you saying pretty much all of them have faced 2-3 of each other is true, but again your trying to put a spin on it to make it like they all have 2-3 wins, which again is not the case.

Only one with 3 wins is Anderson

2 are Misaki and Ricardo, the rest have 1 or none.

All i am trying to say is except for a slim few, cases can be made for a lot of them for being over rated by your logic. I am not calling any of them really over rated expect Kang, an i said he was top 10 above 8.

I mean then we could venture down each of these guys losses and compare those, because a few have some shaky loses.

Yeah i see the video, but can you say for 100% that Shamrock took a dive. Then can you say for 100% that Franklin or Zuffa was part of it. None of those can be answered with a yes.

After watching it a few times i can say Shamrock is just a fuck tard, i wouldn't call it a fixed fight.

Oh i agree Franklin needs to fight guys like Nate, Hendo, Cote, Ricardo, would love to see him fight Filho. I never said he shouldn't. I just said he isn't over rated.

10. Kenny Florian - He is getting a title shot if he wins his next fight so he is obviously held in high regard. Personally speaking, I hated the guy at first but he has come back very strong after losing to Sherk, so I give him credit he deserves and I think he is a very good fighter. On the other hand, him trying to finish fights with his elbow still makes me lose respect for the guy.

09. Jason Miller - I dont think he is underrated.

08. Scott Smith - He has power and that's pretty much it.

07. Patrick Cote - I am waiting for him get his ass beat real soon. No way in hell any fighter of this crappy quality deserves a title shot.

06. Brett Rogers - I haven't seen enough to comment on this guy but he doesn't seem very technical. Also, beating HWs in Elite isn;t saying much.

05. Heath Herring - It seems as though he look sloppier every time go goes out there.

04. Rich Franklin - People still give Rich a lot of respect but you gotta admit MW is just a horrible division.

03. Josh Thomson - I totally agree with this. Josh Thompson is a great fighter, but his injures kept him down for awhile. However, I totally disagree Melendez is overrated. That is just absurd.

02. Tim Sylvia - I actually give Sylvia a lot of credit but I do agree he is underrated still.

01. Rich Clementi - Has he fought anyone decent recently?

Ya, Florian is in line for his SECOND title shot, so I don't see how he is underrated. A fighter that is actually horribly underrated is Kalib Starnes

anyone besides me think Melvin Manhoef is underrated? I mean, this guy pounded Sakuraba's face in then appologized to the japanese fans for killing a legend lol.

I also think (and am going to probably get bashed for this) that Brock Lesnar is underrated, at least to the hardcore fans. he was probably seconds away from a ref stoppage against Mir, who was like what... 5:1 odds favorite? And his training program is just crazy. I can see Lesnar bein a beast in the UFC's almost non existant Heavyweight division.
