It is kind of like, I want to vote for Shinya.. just because of that sick submission... but when you look at who he beat.. it was still an awesome, totall appreciated move.. but on a lesser opponent.

I can only imagine. It wouldn't surprise me if "Other" ended up getting some decent amount of votes.

I added him as the Other option since RearNakedStroke voted for him and made someone else with no votes on the list "Other"... so he is there..

^ That is basically why I didn't vote for Anderson Silva back when he beat Franklin again.. he did something he had already done before.. in less dominant fashion no less.

Ultimately, I picked Thomson.. he shocked everyone..

And I have never seen this poll so spread out.. we could have a tie for 1st or a tie for runner up...

Its gotta be Thompson, everyone else besides Amir was expected to win. Alves while he had a good win, he also missed weight. Amir did the same thing he did on the show, and Faber while dominant only showed us what we already knew he was against a game but past prime Pulver. Thompson was a 3 to 1 underdog in this fight and manhandled a lw considered top 10 in the world. For someone to raise their game like he has, has to be recognized.

This might be a surprise but I'm saying Kendall Grove. This guy was probably on his way out of the UFC after 2 consecutive KO losses. Yeah tanner came off a long layoff and has diminished skills but Grove came out and looked great and dominated Tanner. There was alot of pressure on Grove to win this fight and he came through. The fighters on the list are all established good fighters(except wiman), the jury was still out on Grove and I think he answered alot of questions by his win over Tanner. So for coming through in the clutch and in dominating fashion, he gets my vote.

I second what this man has said!

Everyone makes a lot of good points about Amir.. but I think what Thomson did was just so unexpected.

Amir by armbar... we all just saw it no more than a week before he did it the second time... there wasn't much surprise and it is clear that more than anything, C.B. needs to work on armbar defense.

Thomson, on the otherhand, pretty much tore up Melendez the whole match.. it was a total domination.

Thompson was a close second, but I don't think Melendez was ever really THAT impressive. Pulver is a proven, seasoned veteran that took everything Faber had, but kept coming. Under those circumstances, Faber still came out unscathed and dominated Jens. He stopped the "Lil' Eagle" from "flying again."
