There is no way in hell KOs could make 155 unless he loses a bunch of muscle mass. Even if he does make weight, what makes him think he deserves a shot?

I think Kos will get a shot at Penn sooner or later @ 170. Even with all the hate at Kos I think it is pretty obvious that the guy is probably number 2 right now at WW. Hell he is the only guy that even gave GSP a fight recently (outside of the fluke serra). And even with as much natural ability Penn has, Kos has way more athelic(sp?) ability. So if this fight happens in about a year or so, I think it would be rather competive. If it happened today I think Penn would take it because Kos is still learing the game and getting his stand-up down. But in a year I think his stand-up will be good enough to go toe-to-toe with Penn and his takedowns are more then good enough to put Penn on his back.

Obviously Kos wants to make more of a name for himself. If they were to fight however, I could see it going either way. Well... more so Penn controlling the fight, but it could go either way.

Instead of doing the usual sherdog fighter bashing, why dont we commend Koscheck for wanting to fight Penn and better his career?
if your a fighter are you going to doubt yourself and say "hey, im not good enough to fight Penn.. im a crappy fighter, and deserve nothing" No, Kos obviously has a lot of confidence in his skills and thats the attitude he should have..
BJ Penn is by far the worse matchup at LW for Koscheck style-wise nevermind the fact that hes one of the Top 3 best fighters in the world.. what Kos is prone to losing by is what BJ Penn is one of the best in the worlds at..
so Kos pretty much loses this fight but still wants to take it.. against a guy he knows will take advantage of everyone of his weaknesses in BJJ and striking.. so War Kos for wanting to fight an extremely hard matchup.. hes not looking past Lytle.. hes just conducting an interview.

Hey respect the dude for wanting to fight the best. Kos has a lot of potential. I'm not sure he has enough game to compete against Penn right now. But I don't see anything wrong with having big brass ones.

He is used to cutting from wrestling for all those years. idk what he wrestled at in high school but it was most likely lower then 170. I think Koscheck has a chance at Penn.

The only reason Koscheck should drop to 155 is if Penn jumps to 170. Koscheck has absolutely no prayer v. BJ. And I am FAR from a Penn nuthugger.

Kos should take 1 or 2 convincing wins first at 155, before title shot.

But I do not feel the same as you when it comes to Kos vs. Penn. Right now yes Penn would beat Kos, but I think it would be a competitve fight and would go the distance. I think Penn would control the stand-up and when Kos put him on his back he would be able to go for some subs and sweeps.
But in another year, different story. People still have to remember Kos has only been training in MMA for about 4 years and he is already Top 5 in one of the most loaded wieght classes in MMA. He has domintated every fight he has been in too outside of GSP. I think in a year he will have good enough stand-up to bang it out with Penn and he already has the ability to put Penn on his back whenever he wants. The thing he needs to learn is how to avoid sweeps and subs and then he should be able to grind out a win over Penn. Penn may have elite BJJ but Kos' wrestling is equal or better then Penn's BJJ and before I get bashed for this just think about it. There is probably 10x as many wrestlers then people practing BJJ and Kos is on the top of the heap when it comes to wrestling.
Kos in about another year will be the next dominate WW champion as far as I am concerned GSP is only keeping that title warm for Kos next year.
