(possible spoiler alert) So those of you who saw his fight the at UFC 86, what did you think of it?

Personally, I think he has to put on some muscle. The 155 weight class leaves him FAR to small for his height. He seems to have okay stand up, but no power behind his punches. In this fight he pretty much hit the guy at will in the first round. But his punches seemed to do no damage at all.

He also seems to have no muscle on his body to protect it from damage. Kicking those twigs of legs has to cause more damage to him than they would to someone whose legs are surrounded by muscle.


Last but not least the obvious... Some BJJ defense.

I believe it would behoove him to spend some time in a lesser org gaining experience.


So what does everyone else think?

He was underwhelming. He seemed to have no power and didn't really dominate with his reach the way he could/should have.

I like his aggression and the effort he puts into training, and his willingness to keep learning and soak up as much info as he can. Someday, he could be a force, but he needs to work alot on his game.

honestly, he could use more power, BUT he really put a hurting on bucholz's face. The dude's eyes looked almost swelled shut. I think he caught him with quite a few good shots.
I was more amazed with Bucholz's composure than anything. He stuck in there, didn't back down, even threw a high kick that connected with gargantuan Hill's 6'4" head.

Hill is out there training with those guys in Bettendorf and to me is showing some very visable improvement in his skill.

I thought he was doing well enough till he made a mistake and had his back taken and the choke sunken in.

Not knocking the guy but I don't think he'll ever make it past the prelims. I just don't think he'll make a good fighter. He'll always have a punchers chance but the more skilled fighters will always have their way with him.

I know, I don't discredit him. I just don't think he will ever progress enough to get past the far more experienced guys.

id like to see him go to WEC,, get a bit more seasoning against a lesser caliber of fighters,,,if he can put it all together he could make a bit of noise in the 155 ranks

I think he can and I think he will. I don't think he can be a LW champ, but in a few years he can be a force. He's just so tall for his division and he can be stronger than others and imo he just needs to increase his skill level.
