I think Jackson is probably a more marketable champ both as an entertaining character and as a powerful and explosive fighter. He's hilarious and he is a dominating force. He wasn't as well known to those fans that only watched the UFC, but I think that deficit has been, and had been for some time, erased as well.

I don't think you could have scripted a better ending to that fight. 40 percent of the people say Forrest won, 40 percent say Rampage won, 20 percent say it was a draw. Now you're going to have a rematch that will probably double the PPV numbers and they will probably do it quick to build off the buzz.

Where did you find those 40-40-20 numbers? I'd like to see that.

Jackson / Wand - Jackson / Chuck - Jackson / Shogun will all make more money than a title rematch w/ Forrest. I doubt Rampage gets an imediate shot at the title, not with Chuck literally one win away from it.

He should be happy, he got what he wanted, a superstar that is champ thanks to TUF show. Jackson is by far more marketable but the UFC hasn't really pushed him as hard as he could have. He beat their poster boy in one round he Chuck was on Jimmy Kimmel while Rampage was on an online CBS streaming interview. Yeah they're getting with the program now but it's taking them a while and they could have a SUPERSTAR with Rampage but they aren't pushing him hard enough.

Also it's funny that two fighters he trashes, Tito and Fedor have wins over his current champs.

I don't have any stats on it, I was just going by what my friends and family thought and what I read. It's pretty even. In the forums, alot of people give credit to Forrest from a fan perspective but articles I've read have said people thought Rampage won. Personally, I thought it was a draw. Rampage 3 rounds to 2 with Forrest having the 10-8 2nd round.

My wife hasn't watched it yet so I'm going to test a theory on her. She's a Forrest fan and people have said the commentating was biased so I'm making her watch it with the volume off tonight to see who she thinks one without any commentary whatsoever.

You are happy Forrest won the fight if you are Dana White.

To UFC fans, Forrest is a more loved fighter. He is the come up from nothing and achieve the big goal story. People like him.

UFC fanboys are still sour over Chuck losing to Rampage last May. And that is unfortunate/unfair for/to Quinton.. the guy was never even given a chance by many fans.. all because he beat Chuck.

Forrest and Rampage are in line for a huge Tito and Chuck type payday when the rematch happens.

Yep this is exactly what I was thinking. It was probably a perfect scenario for Dana. The underdog wins in a very very close fight that are disputed by many. This would warrant a rematch which would attract more fans than the first match itself.

Rematches usually do better than the first fight. Look at Tito-Ken, Tito-Chuck, Chuck-Randy, Hughes-GSP, GSP-Serra, AA/Tim.

Trilogies end up doing even better especially when each fighter has a win. The best scenario would now be Rampage winning in a very very close fight.

Forrest is like Rocky.

His career, or so rise to fame, belt and so on is a true under dog story.

Forrest is like Cinderella, he found his slipper
