say what you will about cote, but he's been hella impressive since his loss to lutter. i didn't see his fight with almeida, but if he got the win, then he belongs at the top of the division, right after Okami.

Good for Cote - he doesn't stand a chance, but good for him.
Now.....Yushin Okami should be on the phone to Joe Silva and Dana White and wanting out of his deal. How does a rematch w/ Silva not sell?
Promos....
Silva / Okami - Anderson Silva looks for a victory over one of the few men to hold a victory over him. This time its personal!
Silva / Cote - See the next victim for The Spider!

can someone change the headline of this thread to "Okami still getting title shot ahead of Cote. Settle down already". i'm really getting annoyed with people saying he's getting screwed here. HE'S NEXT! DANA SAID HE'S NEXT! jesus christ already.

I thought winners of boring fights didn't get title shots. That's the excuse that was always used when it came to Arlovski before he left UFC. :headscratch:

I'm glad to see some future planning around the MW title. I'm very happy for Cote and we've all seen fighters not recover their careers after some loses but Patrick recouped himself and I'm glad he's being given a title shot. He's improved but Anderson is a fighter of a different breed. Hope he's on his game because I can see some holes in his game that Anderson can take full advantage of it.

I'm a Cote fan and I believe he beat Almeida in their fight Saturday. That said, the promos said the winner would move up the line towards a title shot, not the winner gets a title shot. I don't think Cote has earned it yet and I don't think he's ready.
Anyone notice how to sell Cote they used Tito when he was "on top of the world" saying Cote rocked Tito in that fight. This was also when Tito had lost 2 straight.
It seems like the UFC is lining up mid-tier guys with decent names for Anderson to walk through to build his mystique up more. There's no way Anderson comes out of the end of this run not 3-0 against Okami, Irvin and Cote. He should win them all by first round TKO, IMO.

| There was some drama outside the cage after the fight. Manager Stephane Patry said a UFC official -- not White -- had berated his fighter for the lacklustre bout. Patry said he promptly complained to UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta, who assured him Cote would be treated right.
I wonder who that douchehead was?
