VERY good news! I can't wait for him to re-establish himself

Shogun should just sit out the year and get himself ready for 2009. An ACL injury is a hard thing to rush. He should take his time.

What are you a new fan? He had a bad injury and lost ONE match. Hell use Crocop if you feel inclined to throw a name under the "fallen from grace" bus. If not him I'm sure you can find other names that fit that bill better than Shogun.

yeah I'm not sure losing ONE fight to the guy that is now the champ is a fall from grace. lol

Definitely looking forward to seeing a 100% healthy and motivated Shogun make his return to the UFC!!

Same here man.

If he were to return on that NYE card, that would put that card over the top as possibly the strongest UFC card ever.

There's already BJ Penn vs. GSP/Fitch (whoever wins the upcoming title fight) strongly rumored for the NYE card, and Silva-Cote is a distinct possibility dependent upon how much damage Silva takes vs. Irvin and vs. Okami at UFC 88. Also Wanderlei vs. TBA is rumored for the NYE card.

Add Shogun vs. TBA to that mix and you have an over-the-top supercard.

Shogun has rumored to have been returning 3 times this year already. Lets see him training for an actual scheduled fight before we get our hopes up.

ACL injuries are career enders for many. In the NFL, an ACL injury usually means you're out for a year and never the same even when you return. I just don't know how effective he will be and where his mind will be once he does get back.

I hope he comes back with a vengeance but torn knee ligaments are no joke. All of your mobility hinges on that knee ligament.
