Personally I think it sucks.
Alot others might not like Shaw. I see Shaw as a bigger fatter not trying as hard to be cool Dana White. They are essentially interchangable.
Back on point...Say what you will about Shaw, but they have made it to the #2 promotion in this country in a very short time span, and did it largely without raiding UFC talent. Smith & Lawler are the biggest names from UFC, Lawler had a few stops in between and Smith was 'fired'. To hear the fighters talk about Shaw, they have a lot of respect for him. They think he's pretty fair and is somewhat looking out for them (like letting them negotiate with other orgs openly, and not negotiating contracts based on that, not burying them and trying to ruin their value before their contracts expire).
If ProElite is going to take direction from CBS on who and how they run EXC, there is no telling what might become of the promotion. I would certainly hate to see EXC become the XFL to UFC's NFL. Or an even better comparison is to watch EXC turn into IronRing. So yeah, simply because of the possible alternative, I'd rather have Shaw than some network exec calling the shots.
