There has to be a mistake here. I cannot fathom that he really believes this. He may need a psychological evaluation. And this isn't a joke.
I don't know how many of you have sparred against a real boxer. The difference between a skilled boxer, someone who does it everyday for years, and someone who trains in boxing to round out their MMA is astounding.
People here are talking about Tim against Wladimir? Tim Sylvia couldn't beat a professional HW boxer in the top 20. In fact he couldn't compete at Olympic trials for boxing, which is amateur. This is absurd. People go nuts when boxers even mention coming to MMA, I have to tell you folks, this is just as ridiculous.

Don't think Timmy would survive against a top 20 boxer under boxing rules.
Two things to consider is we have never seen Timmy fight with boxing gloves, it is a lot easier to block a punch with the big gloves and it is also a lot easier to block a punch and throw a punch when you don't have to worry about being kicked or taken down. That being said, I still think Timmy would be a punching bag for any decent heavy weight.
On a somewhat unrelated topic, did anyone watch the Klitschko\Thompson fight last night? For the first 5 or so rounds, Larry Merchant was so negative about Klitschko, making him sound like this glass jawed looser, how many years ago was the Sander's fight?
Also, not that it was too bad last night, but they should do more about the clinching in boxing. They should treat it like grabbing the cage in the UFC, clinch once, get a warning, clinch a second time, have a point deducted, it would make boxing a lot more exciting. The two punch, grab the guy and wait the for the ref to break up the hug isn’t great to watch.

I would take Klitchko in MMA or Boxing. Either brother, both are tall, good boxing skills, strong jabs an 10x the knock out power tim has, not to mention much more speed.
Oh an they were kickboxers too, Vitali was a pro kickboxer an wasn't that bad, so i would pick against Tim in either sport.
I would take Kelly Pavlick against Tim. That weak ass slow jab isn't going to cut it in boxing.
