Once Again...... All Around Good Fighter, 2 Looses In Entire Career, That Would Be Nice To Anybody , Great Guy, My Mistake No Kids But He Treats His Neices And Nephews Just Like They Were His. Another Thing. Check Out The Pics On His Web Page. You Can Tell By The Family Pics He Doesnt Really Come From Exactly Money. Besides The Point I Like Him Bottom Line. Fighter And Person. There Are Plenty Of Fighters I Feel That Way About. Some Are Better Fighters Than The Others. Im Not Sure I Made Myself Clear In The Fact I Am Not Argueeing Over The Fact That His Is The Best!!, I Know He Isnt He Got The Hell Bet Outta Him. But I Hated To See It. Silva Was Excellant And I Look Forward To Seeing Him In Future Fights. Both His Ufc Apperances Were Amazing!! Props To A Silva!!

Damn, trying to get anything other than "Rich should be made human of the century" from his fans is like pulling teeth. What does his personality, his lack of kids (since you didnt even know that but you felt comfortable arguing that he's a good fighter because he's a devoted father), and being a christian have to do with his fighting skills? Anyway, at least you've gone from calling him great to good. I agree that he's a good fighter, but nothing really seperates him from the rest of the pack.

As Far As A Champion? I Do Have A Question. Silva Will Be A Great Champ. Do You Think He Will Be As Good As Poster Boy Champ As Ace Was? Probably Not. The Commercials, Persional Apperiances Etc? Is What I Mean. Richs Personality Showed Through All Of These. I Dont See Silva Doing That. Once Again Hes Going To Be A Great Champ!! I Just Cant See Him Representing The Ufc In The Personal Way Franklin Did. Maybe English Has Alot To Do With It But We Will See. He Could Change My Mind.

Why do you capitalize the first letter of every word like that guy(s) who has Liddel and Iceman..etc as their nicknames? And I'm still trying to figure out why Franklin's fans look at him with awe. I just dont understand it. It doesnt make them wrong in their mind, but it makes them questionable about evaluating a fighter in reality. But of course that's just my opinion.

Yea that's another annoying point and which is why the UFC gets trashed on. It's an American company and everything has to be "Americanized". To hell if he can be a poster boy. I'd rather watch a middleweight champion who can fight than one who can do cheezy commercials and all that useless crap. Leave the marketing to Dana and leave the fighting to Silva. But again, all of the above has nothing to do with fighting. It's stuff that happens outside the ring but it's stuff that a lot of American, or north american fans seem overly concerned with. And probably why UFC fighters get booed if they're not from the U.S or well if they're from Brazil or France (gross generalization i know, but one that applies to many "fans").

Do you feel that you would have some good input into the determination of the rankings? Or do you have no opinion because all the fighters in the world have never had the chance to fight each other?

haha thats the equivalent of pulling someones hockey jersey over their head and pummelling them.

Kewl144 you should just try to enjoy the fights instead of trying to be a skeptic on everything so the one time you end up being close to right you can brag. Rich Franklin is a great fighter, it's fact and not up for debate. Just his heart alone should instill enough respect in fans so they don't rip into him for losing a fight. The guy fought over three rounds with a broken hand so he wouldn't lose the fight and the fans would get what they paid for. That alone probably set his recovery back by months. 90% of fighters would have thrown the towel in after breaking their hand, but he went out and dominated for 3 more rounds for us the MMA fans.

Unfortunately this argument will never be settled because I think Franklin has suffered too many injuries to ever be the same fighter he was.

what makes him great? What truly seperates him from the rest of the pack? None of his fans can actually answer these questions. It's easily debatable because he doesnt excell at any area of MMA. He has average punches, average kicks, and an average ground game. He fought with a broken hand because losing the title means losing a lot of money. He's only paid 30k (?) a fight as it is. He said before his last fight that he just wanted to go in, get a one punch knockout and get his pay and go home.
