Default I feel drained right now...

Don't take this thread as me bitching or whining. Bigtime congratulations to Anderson Silva. He was without a doubt the better fighter tonight. However there are some fighters out there that you truly idolize and the way you perceive them as invincible makes them seem larger than life and truly inspirational to you. Ace has always been one of those guys for me and some of my friends. When he got knocked out, there was a stunned silence in the room as if someone had just died. It was unreal....resemblant to the feeling that came over me when Royce Gracie got beaten by Matt Hughes. I have always been one to say what others are thinking but may not have the courage to say. But I'm going to say what's on my mind right now and if you guys want to make fun of me feel free lol.

As strange a metaphor as this is, it's sort of like when you're 5 years old and watching a cartoon/ comic book character getting beaten. It makes you feel like everything you have believed in your life, such as feats of invincibility are completely false and you become scared in the world again because at that moment you realize anyone at any given time is vulnerable. The invincible flawless person doesn't exist. We all bleed, sweat, cry, and feel pain. We are human and no man is indestructible. Not even Fedor. I am 19 years old and train in mma. Right now is a very sad and scary day for me, but rather than saying someone got lucky or that it was a fluke I have to congratulate Silva again. I am looking forward to what his and Rich's futures have in store for them.

Rich has been a great champion, and great champs always learn from their losses and come back better than ever. I'm praying the same thing happens with Ace.

Dude, that's the thing I've learned after being involved with the fighting business for so long now, they dont call it the hurtin business for nothing. I can't tell you how many times I've had a broken heart, I was at the Tyson V Lewis fight live, watching Mike Tyson the guy I grew up idolizing get throttled by the better champion. I saw Tito finally eat his words, I saw Evander lose to a blow up middlweight, Ive seen it all and honestly Ive learned 1 simple rule from all this and that's EVERY FIGHTER EVENTUALLY LOSES BADLY. It is what it is

yeah... Rich Franklin was one of my favorite fighters. Whether he won or lost, its just the game you know... but he got totally owned. I am kinda in a state of disbelief right now myself...

I was happy to see Franklin get KTFO.

No offense but I dont like his "American Fighter" attitude. I like how his nose got re-arranged a good inch or so. Seeing his wife crying in the audience was hilarious too. Welcome to MMA!

you need to watch a PRIDE ppv. it puts this UFC to shame.

I know...it's like....I can't really fathom it yet. It's not like it was even a shock considering the way they matched up on paper. Silva was definitely considered by many as a favorite. I went into this fight with the mentality of "don't be surprised if Franklin gets beaten" but the way he was just dismantled was unreal. Especially right after KenFlo went the distance with Sherk. I didn't even see that fight as being close at all when I heard about it.

Yeah, after seeing the Silva Vs Leben fight I started thinking maybe Leben was overrated... but after this fight makes me second guess it...

Silva's striking ability is crazy... head and shoulders above anybody else in MW UFC, and might be pound for pound best striker in all weight classes

I've watched PRIDE. Comparing PRIDE and the UFC is stupid because they are both mma, but in my eyes are entirely different sports. Soccer kicks and head stomps are legal in PRIDE and elbows are legal in the UFC. Brings entirely different dynamics to each organization. I think certain fights would end differently were they fought in PRIDE or the UFC.

Let's not make this a discussion of UFC vs. PRIDE though because there are already too many of those all over these forums.

dana kept giving rich creampuffs i mean he dominated loiseu, and mike swick beat him handily. they had to give rich easy fights because there is no one in ufc middleweight class that is that good. its only good buisness for ufc if their champs always win. what do you think fedor emilienenko would do to tim silvia, my guess is second round tapout.
