i think that the tourney would have been great to organize the best fighters in the division, but to be honest, it wouldnt fit in with the UFC's desire to build up champions. whats the point in a champion that can win, but can't sell tickets and PPVs

thats why Lindland never got a second shot at the belt


in Pride, they can have GPs because of limited interaction with the fighters.
its not like the UFC, where they need to work to have the sport made mainstream and acceptable.
TUF is what gets people involved here in the US, getting to know the fighters as people.
you think people at the OWGP give two fucks how messy Cro Cop is when he's in a house? its a different atmosphere in Pride, where they do their very best to have only the best of the best fight (unless it involves Minowa)

Definatly the fight of the night........Sherk completly outclassed Florian.......

I was also getting a little pissed off that the ref wasn't doing anything about KenFlo grabbing the fence.......he was doing it all night, and it wasn't until the 5th rd when he started to give the warnings.

That slam at the end was BRUTAL!!! How did Florian stay awake?

Florian kind of made me mad in this fight, they put him over as this tough guy in a small body, who was as strong or stronger then guys in his divsion. Then he comes out with nothing and Sherk over powers him at almost every turn.

Not to mention his saving grace, his elbows arnt even used with the Intent of knocking people out, Its just thrown to cut them and hopefully get the fight stoped (which is a totally shity way to win a fight) THEN KenFlo keeps grabing the cage and pulling himself up everytime Sherk would start moving up his guard.

You can be sure if KenFlo hadn't grab the cage at the end and Sherk was able to turn in to slaming Florian, He would have been out.

I agree.Since the LW title was vacant a tournament was more approprate rather than having the top 2 contenders slug it out for the title.The UFc could have made more money and ratings would be high.But you forgot to mention Joe Stevenson's name to the mix.He could match up pretty well with Sherk's strength.

He's probably the same dumb fuck that had Cheick Kongo winning on his card. Anyone catch that? It's like some judges aren't even watching the damn fight. Honestly, a blind man listening to the damn commentary could score more accurately than some of these idiots.

I could not believe that score. I mean kenny was more impressive then i thought he would be. Props to him. But Sherk won everyone of those rounds. I dont know what fight the judges were watching. It also leads me to belive that if it were a close macth the judges would have undoubtedly scored in favor of florian. Probably would have done more for the UFC ratings to have a TUF guy as a champ.
