i was so psyched up for this fight, for two weeks, i dont know why, since Sherk was not one of my uber-favorite fighters.

but after seeing Sherk dominate Kenny while bleeding like a gunshot victim was awesome, and it actually made the event for me

i could have even gone without Ace vs Anderson on the card after seeing that match.


Sherk tooled Kenny, and Donny owes me two weeks of a sweet signature. oh sweet vindication

I personally was surprised the fight went the distance. Also, Kenny landed some really good body kicks and almost got a stoppage from those elbows. KenFlo is definitely more of a contender than everyone sees him to be.

i'm pretty sure getting the title fight, only to get tooled completely is not make you a contender, it makes you someone with basic survival instinct and decent chin.


i was so nervous the fight would stop from the cut, and i'm glad that it didnt. the elbows that he landed weren't even powerful, they were thrown with only the intention to cut, not to hurt Sherk. he was getting beaten bad, and he just tried to get it stopped.

i'm pretty pissed that Mazzagatti didnt fucking stop any of that fence-grabbing bullshit, or call him on pulling Sherk's shorts to get up before the slam.


after this fight, Sherk became one of my favorite fighters, and i see him holding onto the belt for a while
and he rightfully sent Kenny back to the ranks of the LW, not as a contender, but just another fighter in the division

The only thing about Florian that impressed me was his kicks. Other than that he didn't do much. Sherk was the stronger and better fighter. He completely dominated. Cecil Peoples should be fired or suspended for his horrid 50-48 score card.

how could there even be a 50-48 card? that would mean that Kenny somehow fought to a draw for 3 rounds... i definitely didnt see that. Cecil Peoples has no idea what is going on in the Octagon

Don't get me wrong...I'm not like a huge Florian fan. I'm just a fan of fighting. Non-biased fighting. And from a fighter's standpoint, Kenny held his own against a guy who, on paper, was set to end it in the first round. If it had stayed on the feet Kenny would have won because he was striking more effectively. He just got out-powered. You can bitch all you want about him trying to use the elbows but face it, it's an element of the game. Don't blame him for utilizing something that, under the UFC's rules, is perfectly legal. Be mad at the UFC for making that one of their rules.

Sherk was definitely the more dominant fighter tonight. He won the fight without question. Just give a little respect and credit to Kenny for proving to everyone that he was not just going to be tossed aside in dominating fashion like everyone else predicted. He is a legitimately good fighter who was just out classed and out powered tonight. He'll be back, and he'll be improving along the way.

i give him much respect for surviving against Sherk. Sherk was a monster tonight, and Kenny survived all 5 rounds, and didnt get completely brutalized except for a few undefended burts, and that fucking SLAM. but i just dont think that makes him a contender

it makes him a better fighter then i thought he was for sure. i was one that bet on him getting TKOd in the 2nd. but nonetheless, i think that he's just another fighter in the ranks now, and that Sherk has started what i see being a fairly long reign as the LW champ.

Definitely....he's got Matt Hughes like strength in a division where the guys are generally physically weaker. It's like the big brother of a family constantly beating up his little brothers. The 155'ers are the little brothers of the 170'ers lol. And Sherk is a natural 170.

You Guys Problally Dont Want To Haer What I Got To Say But Imma Say It Anyways.that Was A Good Fight, But I Dont Think Ufc Should Have Made This Fight A Title Fight. Because We Have Not Seen What Any Of These Two Guys Can Do In This Weight Class, Besides Kenflo. They Should Have Just Put The Belt Up For Grabs In A Tourney., Like In The Up And Coming Ultimate Fighter Show. I Think With The Belt On The Line It Would Have Made It Interesting To Watch And Spike Tv And The Ufc Would Have Gotten The Ratings They Want. Fighter Included In The Tourney Should Be:
