Donald Trump was interviewed on Mike and Mike's ESPN radio show this morning talking about the Affliction: Banned event and about the organization in general. Apparently Affliction was recommended to him as a great company by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame. Trump, seeing the opportunity to make some money, invested in the organization. He made it sound like he hadn't seen much MMA but obviously has extensive Boxing knowledge. He also said that the organization has a lot of money behind it. Probably just to afford Fedor.

Anyway. the actual interview will probably appear on ESPN360, but Mike and Mike is an ESPN Insider thing so it may not be publicly available. The interview might show up again on the "Best Of" show at 2PM ET on ESPN if anyone want to transcribe it or something.

Trump was on Howard Stern yesterday morning and I heard the first 30 minutes of the interview. I assume he was there promoting Affliction as well but within the first 30 minutes, there was absolutely no talk of MMA.

I missed the last few minutes of the interview because I had arrived at work but once Stern starts plugging something, he's very convincing.

I heard him on stern also. He has absolutely no knowlege of MMA at all. I don't know why they didn't send another more knowlegable person with him to promote.

When asked about the card, he just said it's a stacked card featuring Fedor. All he know was Fedor's first name and just said Fedor is undefeated and is the favorite against a guy named Tim Silvia, who was 6'8 250lbs or something. He couldn't understand how a guy so small could be so easily favored against a guy so big.

Howard asked Trump what Fedor's style was and all Trump could say is beating ass.

It was a horrible interview that no casual fan would be interested in ordering the fight because Fedor could be anybody if you don't really know who he is.

Yeah I've heard trump try talking about mma before. he's awful. he uses these broad, off topic generalizations and is really really bad at it.

I wish I could find the article I read a while back stating that trump made this deal as an exchange. so they could use his name, without him investing assloads of money, and he'll get revenue percentages based off that.
