|  The next time we see Anderson Silva he will be speaking english
We started talking about this in another post...I think that it deserves it's own.
Silva now needs to learn english. He's never going to be the "poster boy" that Franklin was...but he needs to try. I'll bet the next time we see him he'll be speaking english. If I were Dana I would insist on it.
Hey...no matter how much all of the "MMA Fundamentalists" don't like it, the UFC is an AMERICAN organization. We speak english in America...I'm just saying that if I were the president of the UFC I would encourage my Champs to speak english. GSP is a great example...gotta try.
The english component is another reason that Rich's loss is such an emotional thing for many people. Most of the UFC fans are American and can't relate to a a champion if he's using a translator.
I LIKE Silva. I was unsure about him before the fight...but the pure emotional response after winning the belt, the humbleness of his post-fight commentary all impressed me. Unfortunately most of this was lost to the drunk heathens in the audience. Right, wrong, or indifferent if he would have given his post-fight interview in english he probably would not have gotten boo'ed. |

He may well be saying 'thankyou' and 'I enjoy fight' or something, but to properly learn a language in just 3 months is gunna be a challenge. Personally, I'd rather he spent that time working on his knees

I think he can get that up to 30 per min, with a 40% chin impact ratio. Or learn English.

He can do both...his whole JOB is to train now. He has plenty of free time. Train in the morning and go to school at night.
